EASTENDER MARKY Just been to the TO to get my Pompey tickets and there has been 11,500 sold for the Liverpool game.

Plus 4000 Liverpool presumably ?

Doubtful, they only went on sale to Liverpool fans yesterday. I don't think even they will buy them that quickly

Nope. They use a much fairer system to distribute tickets, rewarding those that go to away games in that competition.

For the League Cup tie against us, only ST holders that went to the League Cup away game at Birmingham last year get first dibs until the end of Monday. It then goes to Fancard members who also went to Birmingham away last season for another week. Any remaining tickets then go to season ticket holders

For away League games they go to ST holders first who have been to four or more away games, then one or more then all season ticket holders.

Much better system of doing it, rewards the more loyal away fan.

Suspect exactly the same people would get the tickets if they used a scheme like ours though !!

Not really, you don't have to go to many away games as a ST at RFC to get in the top bracket. This rewards those that go to nearly all the games home & away

But you only need to go to 4 away games to get into the top bracket at Liverpool, so no real difference in the schemes except ours can be adjusted on a match by match basis .

It increases with every away game, so the next one will have required five away games. Then it drops another level to say three, then one after the initial level. It continually rewards those that go away with first refusal, it doesn't take into account home games

Confused...
You said it went to STH first who had bene to 4 away games, which suggests it does take into acount home games !

I know you've been consistent in saying away tickets should only go to those who've been to lots of away games and I see your point. I don;t agree with it mind you but that doesn;t make me right...

It's any ST holder that has been to the away games, so it could be a season ticket holder of one season or one of thirty!!! As I say, it just rewards those that watch their club.

Fair enough.

Still sounds like it will have exactly the same effect as our system.

There haven't been many (any ?) games where you'd have missed out on a ticket if you had a ST and been to a few away games. I thought you wanted a system where priority went to those who had been to away games and took no account of home games.

It's impossible to not take into account home games, ST holders should get the first dibs on any tickets. I just think that our system is weighted incorrectly as you get points for going to home games.

At the start of the season I would have set Utd as any ST holder that went to 10 away games in the 06/07 season, then bring it down by increments until you get to a general sale level if needs be.

That's my take on it anyway, though it does help if you have a fan base which sells out your home games every time. It could be worse, it could be like Portsmouth where they have a ballot for their away tickets between all supporters!!!

Sneaky club web site. They removed the link to purchase tickets for this match on the online ticketing BEFORE the STH deadline !

Consequence ... listen to monotone drivel on expensive 0870 number.
