Opinion is obviously divided on this issue. Tens of thousands of us believe expansion is prudent and in the other corner is Schards with RL pretending to agree with him. Even Tredder would baulk at these odds.

It's perfectly apparent why we'd need to expand.
As in life, some people are consitently short sighted and unprogressive on here.

Don't understand the argument for not expanding at all.

The last time we played Derby at home, every ticket available to home fans was sold.

That renders your point about the gate being higher worthless, as was your point about the Chelsea gate being higher as that also sold out to home fans last year too.

Does anyone know for sure that yesterday was not sold out for home fans?

I ask because the gate was only just over 1000 short of capacity and there must have been close to that number spare in the away end.

Not, of course, that this matters to anyone other than the one person who continues his childish crusade to convince everyone that he hasn't been proved completely and utterly wrong, not only in his assessment of current demand, but also his comprehension of what constitutes total demand for tickets at the Mad Stad.

To the rest of us, the last 3 home games have proven beyond all doubt that even current demand cannot be met by our present capacity, leaving nothing spare to expand the fanbase to a level that would support top flight football in the long term.

Out of sympathy for my keyboard I won't repeat all the countless reasons, mentioned countless times by countless posters in this thread, as to why it's as clear as night following day that demand continues to out strip supply even for some of the least attractive fixtures when they're televised by SKY

I ask because the gate was only just over 1000 short of capacity and there must have been close to that number spare in the away end.

It wasn't. But there were a very small number of unsold single seats.

Whilst i'm not going to argue with you until you indicate you are not going to resort to cheap purile insults with every post, I would just point out that the last four homes games haven't sold out for home fans. How that demonstrates my point that demand has fallen since last year (when all league games sold out for home fans) is 'completely false', I struggle to see. Quite the opposite I would suggest.

I would again invite yourself to have a good look at yourself and grow up a little before responding further.

Lack of space and flexibility to move - all that has been spare is single seats, and no-one is going to bring someone if they can't sit with them.

For Everton/West Ham/Wigan, the upper west, south end has had rows of empty seats that could accomodate 15-20 people sitting together.

Another non sell out but close to capacity suggests the size of the stadium is just about perfect.

Just about perfect with no room for growth.

I don't what your business experience is but that is a poor position to be in and signals the businesses intention that it doesn't want to grow anymore if expansion isn't planned and scheduled.

Something else that I can't see mentioned is that for most games this season only single seats have been left. This will put off quite a few people who would otherwise have attended as a family or group of friends. Last season this wouldn't have been so much of a problem due to the novelty factor.
