I think we are going to get ripped to shreds by pretty much the same Arsenal youth (now first team) that did us in the cup at there place a couple of years back. I do not feel that this makes me any less of a reading fan, Arsenal are better than us and will continue to be for the foreseeable future, even if Branson or some super wealthy yank buys us and pumps loads of money into the team.

Just to be clear, yes I do understand how good the Arse are, but....

This is a game we can win, lose or draw!

We could give up before we kick a ball, we could withdraw from the league, (we might just as well according to some posters) or the professional footballers we employ, supported by us, could knuckle down and give the Arse the most difficult game of their lives.

I suspect I know what the team will do and it's a good job the faint hearts of this board aren't playing!

It depends which Arsenal turns up. If they have one of those games where they can't finish, despite 35 chances, then we might nick something. If they have a good day though, we could get mullered.

I appreciate what your saying and really believe the boys will try their hardest, however, I still think we'll get bum raped!

cmonurz Reading 1-5 Arsenal

Adebayor hat-trick, Doyle with a last minute consolation. HNA? team board full of dipsh*ts telling us we won’t go down and only Judas and his even more traitorous brother Humphrey would claim otherwise.

do you actually support reading?

Yes. HTH.

readingbedding If any of the players are reading this, put some of these pathetic predictions all over the dressing room before the match.

Thanks.

It's called realism - do you expect us all to predict a Reading win?

I (along with everyone else who has predicted a Reading defeat) will be ecstatic if we get something from the game but I just can't see it happening.

Fezza I think we are going to get ripped to shreds by pretty much the same Arsenal youth (now first team) that did us in the cup at there place a couple of years back..

Although of course we played a less than full strength team that day, only lost 3-1 and the difference was essentially a couple of class bits of finishing by them and some poor finishing by us.

But Kitson should've scored so lets count it!

Umm I have to say I thought their strikers and Owusu-Abeybie (spelling?) missed a hat full, the game could easily have finished 10 - 4 to them. Add to that team some really top class internationals and we are up poo creek!

Reading: Stack (Hahnemann, 83), Murty, Ingimarsson, Sonko, Shorey (Makin 59), Oster, Harper, Sidwell, Hunt, Kitson, Lita (Doyle 72). Subs not used: Little, Convey.

Yep we were much weaker then!!!

Indeed, having got stuffed by Chelsea and Amn utd with their legions of top class internationals there is no way we can even expect to compete with Arsenal.

I don't think people have grasped the glorious unpredictability of football !!

Style of play! Arsenal play a much faster game than Man Utd and Chelski, both of whom (Ronaldo excepted) aren't the quickest of teams!

I have to say I thought we'd put out a weaker team than that and I was there!

I've got a feeling that we might manage a creditable 1-3, provided that we don't start with Gunnar, Murty or Hunt in the line-up - subs perhaps but let's start with Fae, Rosenior and Convey. Might freshen things up a bit.
