A better result for us than our opponents. If we do that every week we'll be in great shape.

just been trawling their Boards, general view was that Marcus saved us a few times but that we were the better footballing side. Overall they seem to agree the draw was fair.

very important result.

Very happy with the point. Unhappy that I couldn't get the match on the internet and that HNA was down all day. Got more work done than normal on a matchday so that's a good thing I suppose!

On a separate thread

Wycombe Royal
Gordons Cumming I've just noticed on Arsenals website their fixture list from the 1st April.

If the Gunners get through to the Champions League Semi-final it could benefit Reading. We slot in between Utd and a CL semi final.
The Gunners are bound to rest a few here.

I know it's a little far ahead but there is no time limit on discussions I believe?

This is their list of games from 1st April - 22nd April

1)CL Quarter final 1st leg
2)Liverpool
3)CL QF 2nd Leg
4)Man.Utd
5)Reading
6)CL Semi final

Who cares?

Here is my overview of the game.

We started really well. Looked confident one a few corners etc, once they scored we seemed to get a lot worse. I think one problem is way from home is mentally we are not strong enough at the mo. Sonko and Ivar looked a little shaky at the back. Sonko is one of my fav players but on say he seemed to do the hard stuff easily but make some basic errors. Im not his biggest fan but S Hunt played well never gave anyone time on the ball and seemed most likely to make something happen. KD and DK is started to form a really good partnership, both played well and looked dangerous, even though they didn’t have much service. We have dangerous strikers if we could sort out CM to give us a platform to attack from I think we could do really well. I know only his 2nd game but I was disappointed with Cisse, I don’t seem to remember him doing anything. I hope he comes good. Towards the end of the game we looked very dangerous on the break, a lot of this was because of some great running by KD.

I think I must be alone in thinking that Cissé did OK. He certainly started cold, but he was hardly alone in that given that we were one down after a few minutes. Apart from that, yes most of what he did was positional/defensive stuff in the first half, but once he and Harper got their act together in the centre, it all seemed a bit tighter in there.

He seems to have more bite in the tackle than Gunnarsson, and a better awareness of what's around him. Time will tell, but if he can get on his game quickly against Sunderland, he might come up with more of the ball-winning, move-starting stuff we saw when he set off that lovely move that ended with Hunt's missed opportunity near the end.

Anyway, the coaches have got a week to work on whatever midfield combination they've decided on, and (assuming it is Cissé in there) surely it's better to judge on next Saturday's performance rather than based on him coming in unexpectedly to a team struggling to battle their way back into a game away from home. Personally, I think he battled well enough to deserve a starting place against Sunderland. This is a Keano team we're facing, it ain't gonna be pretty in there!
