Free travel to the Portsmouth game?

by STAR Liaison » 11 Dec 2007 09:07

I’ve heard that Reading Buses will make travel to the Portsmouth game on New Year’s Day free for all those who use the buses for the Sunderland game and can show their bus ticket for that game.

So if you use Reading Buses for the Sunderland game keep your ticket safe!

We can only ask - but the news did come direct from an influential Royals fan at Reading Buses.

So i put up with the bus service every home match for god knows how long and when there's finally some sort of payback it involves attending the one home match that I'm missing this season. Disgraceful.

Although I'm sure any bus ticket will work on NYD as H&P points out

Lol, RZR's stepdad is chair of Reading Buses and I spoke to him before the Man City game about this. He said they'd all be running for free. Now they've decided its only for people going by bus for the Sunderland. How soon before its half price for people who used them for Sunderland?

To be fair, it would appear that for reasons that cannot be publicised, his hands were tied regarding this matter. This is, however, still an excellent offer for the fans who use the buses.

A Team Burbs scam that has been running for many years now - Taxi to the ground, bus back with any old scrap of paper in the pocket. I believe Bob the Builder has been using a bus ticket from 2001 whereas I tend to opt for a betting slip. Other items used in the past include lottery tickets and Rollover Hot Dog wrappers.

Indeed Hugo, the game of seeing what you can get away with using as an acceptable form of bus ticket is all part of the big game outing.

The bus ticket is dated 30th May 2000 - I'd say i've had more than good value from that one !

Well done Reading Buses for their plan to mitigate the cost by knocking the buses on the head before we got to the bus stop :x
