Rumour: Emile Heskey

by TBM » 28 Jan 2008 17:14

I've just heard from a very reliable source that Emile Heskey is on his way to Reading for £3m which will see Lita go the other way.

You heard it here first!!!

I'd take that deal if it was a straight swap or money to us. Never if we had to pay too. That would rate Emile at about £6m

Ever noticed how all these "you heard it here first" threads turn out to be complete bollox?

Heskey for Lita, I'd go for it but I reckon there's more chance of Little playing Saturday than it actually happening.

Not a chance. Brilliant player, would definitely attract attention from bigger clubs than us if he were available, which I doubt he is.

Sorry, did anyone actually think this might be true? I was treating it as discussion provoking fiction...

You heard it here first!

I doubt this is even remotely true but would be quite happy if it was. Played a fair bit of his early career at right wing as well!

There was a rumour in the summer that we were after Heskey and that rumour came from a relative of a member of staff so it wouldn't surprise me if there was some truth in it.

With Lita looking to leave, we could do a lot worse than Heskey. Not going to happen though.

Can you see a relegation rival of ours selling us one of their best, if not their best player to us?

Nah me neither.

It's usually "you heard it here first" because no one else was daft enough to make it up.

So you complain about our transfer policy/dealings, etc on one thread and then when there is a rumour about a player who could really make difference, who has vast Premiership experience, etc you shoot the rumour down saying there is no way they would sell him to us basically implying implying that the club shouldn't bother trying.

You can't have it both ways.

Of course i didn't say any of that but there we go.

Where have i implied Heskey wouldn't be a good signing?

Where have i implied Reading shouldn't bother trying?

All I did say was i can't see Wigan selling him to a relegation rival.

Looks like WR has been having advanced false dichotomy lessons from Royal Rother.

I hope this logic applies to Hunt as well.

Just trying to start an argument, but it seems I am failing miserably. I need something to break up the day of looking at spreadsheets.
