Totally disagree with you. There are not many clubs where a team can lose eight on the bounce but still the vast majority of fans back the management. This is replicated on this board with the vast majority of us prepared to back Coppell even if we go down. That does not mean he is doing a perfect job and he himself has admitted to mistakes throughout the season.
If we have it your way we might as well close this board down and avoid discussion altogether.

If the team is coached or plays like a** - we have every right to call them out. They have won 2 games now and have moved up the table. We played well today - City also played very poorly. We earned the 3 points - But there are no apologies needed.

This is the most popular RFC forum and *the* active discussion area for all things RFC and any player/staff who cares about the club who doesn't frequent this site needs their head seeing to or they need to climb out of the cardboard box they've been living in for the last 15 years!

Negativity after minimal signings and a bad run is expected. But the *extent* of the relentless negativity on here has been uncalled for, unfair, out of proportion, infectious and in many cases just plain stupid. And I'm not just talking about the usual suspect windup parasites.

It definitely filters through to the players/team/staff both directly and indirectly via spreading bad feelings amongst supporters.

No one has to apologise but it goes to show how unreasible and unfounded the opinions of some people on here are. The lack of knowledge about football and just about anything is astounding at times. We will get relegated at some point but the fact we have Steve Coppell in charge means that we will come back, get rid of him and we wont.

I'm not going to apologise for any comments/criticisms I may have made on here in the past - as I felt they were warranted at the time. I did say I thought SC had lost the plot with his team selections at times and with getting rid of Lita, so far he's been vindicated in his team selection for the last 2 games, but there's still a way to go. I've also said I thought Marek had something about him and those of us who said that from the outset were rubbished for our opinions. Each to their own, I say. Come the end of the season, should we stay up, no-one will louder and more vociferous than me in their support for the manager. We'll still need to make changes/buys however....

We were extremely lucky at Middlesbrough, and having watched the replays on MoTD from yesterday, we were also extremely lucky not to have conceded 2 pens, (although at the game I felt they were both dives too, but slow-mo proved that wrong), and also having Dunne carried off.

In some respects, we have more to be worried about. All of sudden, we are 13th and everything in the garden is rosy???? You are having a laugh!!! For example, Oster still defies logic in that he is picked for the first XI ahead of footballers. Lita ... well don't even go there ... etc etc

However, at least yesterday we played some football! Mateovsky is clearly going to be key for us. Why oh why he was taken off is beyond me, (as is much of what Sir Steve has done this year). It was a clear signal with 15 odd mins left that we were going to shut up shop, when we all know we can't do that! The biggest plus point was the almost tangible injecion of confidence once we took the lead. It was a joy to behold, and it is a wonderful feeling being able to read the Sunday papaers knowing we're looking down the table on 7 clubs. Despite Doyler's lack of goals, his work rate is phenomenal, and he directy created both goals. The assist for Long's goal was obviousl, but it was the way he drew 2 defenders away from Kits, allowing him room to continue his run forward that really made me sit up and realise that even though he's not scoring right now, his contribution is still immense.

Just don't get caried away that everything is now wonderful in the team - 'cos it most certainly ain't!!

As far as I am concerned the play yesterday was not so different to the previous months but we got 3 points, it is such a fine line between success and failure that the wholesale changes do not seem to me to be the solution. The tweaks in the team seem to have done enough to make the players just that little bit more determined and less nervous and long may it last.

and to all other nobbers who misguidely think I am an RTG and would not "permit, allow or countenance any criticism" 1: I don't have the power, 2: I don't have the inclination. I may even have "with my tongue firmly in my cheek" been guilty of a provocative post title, but in all fairness I was merely pointing out that we amateur managers and coaches are quick to condemn and should perhaps be just as quick to congratulate. We are certainly not safe yet, but this is a new begining and hopefully we will consolidate and build again!

I don't see the need for any apologies on here from the majority.

Most of the comments and criticisms stand up as reasonable points of view and opinions. If anything the slight improvement in the teams play, and the dramatic improvements in the last two results, are proof that things need to change and those that were demanding some action from the club were perhaps correct.

The last two results will hopefully be the spring board to safety but there is a long way to go yet and we're nowhere near safe yet.

ok, so some people have been optimistic and had faith that we would turn it round, believing firmly that weve had a really tough run, against some very good teams, the only result we were gutted about was bolton, and since then weve really done well to dig out some results,our players are good enough, the signings will bed in and improve the team etc etc

others have been a bit more- none of our players are good enough, our managers gone mad, deserves the sack, the coaches are terrible, long looks like he will never score, ivar is past it, ship him out, bikeys a mentalist & should never play, rosenior is crap, cisse is crap, matejovski is crap, wally/dillon are off their heads saying well finish twelfth etc etc

another set of equally as likely circumstances either way could mean either is right or wrong at the end of the season-its about 50-50 still, but with aa combination of our last two results,. what i know about this teams attitude , and with my own blazing optimism i think we definately will make it.

however the likeley hood is that a mixture of the two opinions are correct
ie, there have been mistakes, but also we have a team here who are man enough to admit it, put it right to keep us where we belong.

clearly we both want us to do well, and stay up(well mostly.) i just wish we as fans could all just take a leaf out of stevie C and rudyard kiplings book, treating victory and defeat in the same way, rather than going off into wild predictions and i told you sos

still, i stand by my assertion that i can see no reason why we cant go the rest of the season unbeaten.........

but when he took matejovsky off, he brought on cisse who layed on the ball for kitson for the goal didnt he?

either way, scoring a goal after the subs probably says we werent shutting up shop
