Took Oxford so long to build their's, the "4 for the price of 3" offer had expired.
To be fair, there's so much cost involved that it'd probably save a few tens of thousands on design costs to copy another ground, which could make a big difference to smaller clubs. Besides, there's only so much that can be done with what is essentially a functional space. It's okay for the likes of Barcelona etc to spend a few million extra on making their ground a piece of art but it's probably beyond the reach of the smaller clubs.

Their stadium isn't some amazing superstadium. It's just a little different from the clones we tend to see. That they've been in europe makes no difference. also, all top-flight grounds that benefit from lucrative matches against big teams or hosting national teams, not to mention TV contracts, being able to pay peanuts for their players, and being able to pay relative peanuts on architecture/construction costs. LOL@ people moaning about modern stadium design, get over yourselves - you go and live in a Grand Designs house then
