londinium What I am saying is if the player is better than Championship level he will be playing in the premiership and hence no Championship club would get a sniff. You are right in thinking that a few may take the lure of etra dosh to drop down, but these would be far and few betweeen, and I for one wouldn't want anyone with that attitude.
So none of our team that finished 8th in the Premiership would be good enough for the Prem? Sidwell, Little, Doyle, Harper, all the other players that have moved up from the Championship and established themselves over the years just aren't good enough whilst they're in the Championship? I'm talking of the likes of Lescott, Dawson, Jagielka, Bent, Johnson, Ashton, Ferdinand....
Beattie dropped down from the Prem to the Championship last season and was excellent (from what I saw and the number of goals he got) until he got injured.
londinium It is essentially the same squad and how do you know they are not motivated or have the same spirit. They have been to 'the promised land' and maybe even more eager to get back.
I'm going by the comments from people within the club about attitude, application and commitment and their performances over the last 12 months. I'm also going by my expectation that a few of those players will soon be off because they either don't fancy another season or more in the Championship or they just 'need a new challenge" which is the football equivilent of "it's not you it's me."
londinium Which 3 players are you talking about.. I didnt think anyone stood out in our Championship winning season... I thought it was more a 'whole squad' job. Please do not answer with 'Convey' or I will never take your footballing judgement serious ever again!!!!!!
The three players that were key to our promotion winning side were, in my opinion, Little, Sidwell and Sonko. The likes of Hahnemann, Shorey, Convey, Doyle and Kitson all played their part too, but those three were key to me.
