floyd__streete My source at tonights forum informs me of the following revelations which came direct from SC himself:
- We were offered Kevin Phillips.
- We were interested in Ben Watson but Palace refused to do business with us.
- Coppell effectively offered his resignation in February.
- Expect a player to leave over the next day or two.
My source suspects that Lita might be the one to go because when asked about his front two for Saturday Coppell said that it would likely be Long and Doyle. Nick(y) Hammond was not at the forum because he was finalising the aforementioned departure.

paultheroyal Been offered Phillips is one thing - accepting him on his £25k a week wages is another.

SC stated that when we were offered Phillips we had Kitson and we didn't need both [fair comment]

working class hero Floyd your source is only giving you part of the story. I will have finished typing the minutes by tomorrow and hopefully they will hit the STAR site tomorrow evening....

The Watson bit is fair.
Coppell said to Hammond our best chance of staying up might be if he left as new managers often get a surge in results....
He said 3,4 or 5 might leave before Monday - or it might be none...
