Victor Meldrew
Scylla Can I be the first to ask why Frank wasn't in the team today? :D

I wouldn't want to be as silly as Kes when he posts similar stuff about Gerrard but........for those few that rate Lampard above Gerrard you have just seen why the rest of us think that Gerrad is so much better.
Well done to Liverpool,on the day superior in all departments.

You're the better man :)

Why did Lampard get subbed at half time?

It's remarkable.

Lampard is this 'big name' player who earns shitloads. Even as a neutral, I have never seen him do ANYTHING of note.

Why in the eyes of most people does the sun shine out of his arse? He's so anonymous most of the time but pops up with the odd lucky goal and is hailed as the best midfielder in England. But he's shit

Lampard is a phenomenal athlete but that's all he is. He would not stand a chance, for example, of even being considered as a national player for Spain, Italy or even Germany or France. He's kind of like Ballack but without any talent or imagination. Plus, he shaves his chest and is a difficult person to like because of his arrogance.

I see England's best midfielder made it into the FIFPro World XI (as voted for by over 57,500 professional footballers).

I thought Frank won that in 2005, so he's won it again this year?

Technically wrong, Lampard has previously won the FIFPro Midfielder of the Year award. Gerrard, however, as won the overall FiFPro Player of the Year award.

If you're going to quote statistics, at least get them right:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFPro_World_XI#Awards

Fwank:

Squad in 2005
Nothing in 2006
Nothing in 2007
Nothing in 2008

By comparison:

Gerrard:

Nothing in 2005
Nothing in 2006
Squad in 2007
Squad in 2008

I'll help you, HALOLROFLoLOLd, my gr8 m8

2005 Awards
2006 Awards
2007 Awards
2008 Awards

Couldn't find a direct link to the 2007 awards on the FIFPro site (they seem to have changed their main site between 2006 and 2008) so had to settle for The Sun's website....

Woops. I was on something completely different.

Gerrard has won 'UEFA Club Footballer of the Year', Lampard 'UEFA Midfielder of the Year'.

One comment on that side-only one black player.
With so many black players in world football it is surprising that only one got in that team although Drogba might have been included but for an injury-hit season and Kolo Toure might have been in if it was meant to be a real team with balance.
Mind you would any opposition ever get the ball faced with a side like that?

Yeah, when Gerrard tries one of his super star 50 yard passes or when John Terry hoofs it out for a throw in.

Frank finished 2nd in World Footballer of Year in 2005. A far gr8er achievement.

He joins another 3 Englishmen to finish in the top 3 since 1991. Beckham finished 2nd (twice) with Lineker and Shearer coming 3rd.
