Will be interesting to see how hungry Convey is or whether he isn't bothered at all and is definately heading for the exit come January.

I think it will be good to see Convey getting a game. Shunt has looked pretty tired in the last couple of weeks. Also think that Coppell maybe should start Long up front with Doyle and bring Nhunt on as an impact sub.
Anyway in general this all shows that Copps seems to know what he is doing. It is comforting to know he has a plan.

rabidbee There's a doubt over Hunt, but he's training again, so I expect it will be Convey in for Henry. I'd be worried if it was Convey and Henry with SHunt on the bench.

brendywendy thought marek was ok on tuesday night
didnt give the ball away any more or less than our other players, but also showed far more potential for creation, ability to hold and pass the ball under pressure, and i also thought midway through the second half he had a great period of sweeping up in his own half, running everywhere in an attempt to grab the game by the scruff of the neck
for his first start he was decent i thought
as for henry, ill give him a few more games in possession of the shirt before i judge, but i thought he had a tendency to hold onto the ball too long, and try and do it himself instead of an easy pass, but he worked hard defensively, and also did ok in a less than fluent team performance
more changes look certain for saturday, and its good to see the squad being used, lets hope it doesnt cost us points
its certainly good to see the fragility pinpointed by coppell seems to have been replaced by a bit of steel
good stuff all round really
hoping convey has a good game on saturday, deserves his start as hunty has been industrious, but apart from dead ball, inneffective recently-hopefully not as a result of arranging his route out of reading in january

I refer you to me previous post on this subject
If I had any doubts that many people on here are incapable of objective analysis this thread proves it.
I have no axe to grind about any of our players but anyone watching that first half who thought Marek played well is either ignorant of all things football or more likely just seeing what they want to see.
In half an hour Marek gave the ball away more than 6 times, made zero tackles and played one decent through pass. He looked lacking in fitness and confidence and was below par to say the least.
I personally think he is worth starting with and has clearly played many better games than this, but please, can't you just watch the game and judge the players on what you see not your preconceived notions.
He wasn't much better on Saturday and was caught in possession, apparently waiting for something to happen, at least four times

Cookie Matejovsky is a class act and Coppell has him firmly in his plans. (Hence the low squad number)
He's got plenty of skill and a delightful eye for a pass and he's still coming back from a long injury break. Given time he will amaze you.
Coppell looks as though he is prepared to sacrifice his rigid team line up to accommodate him because he believes he's worth it. We've had loads of unforced changes in the midfield recently, by Coppell standards.

That's not in doubt as far as I am concerned. What is irritating is people who think he is currently playing well - he isn't

Then why did Coppell not take him off yesterday?
He is a breed of footballer who is infuriating to watch, because of the occasional slack pass, but is 10x more useful than the dull and ineffective (on current form) Harper.
