Deathy And yet we've needed a right winger for what, 2 years?
Chris Eagles, a snip at £1m and went to Burnley.
Wayna Routledge, a bargain at £300k, going to QPR.

6 months, We got Kebe, he didn't get up to speed for 6 months. Now he is and we also have Henry. Hardly 2 years.

We have needed a right winger for almost 2 seasons now! Kebe is still learning, but is promising, and you can't count on Henry just yet.
We still need a right winger IMO.

Southbank Old Boy All depends on how you rated Seol amd Oster I guess
I think we probably needed a right winger for around 18 months as it must've been pretty clear that Seol wasnt happy being here and not getting in the side every week and Oster just wasnt up to playing in the Prem

I rated Seol but from around February time (conviently) his attitude stank. Oster was alright in the Prem, it's just our own fans moronically booed him.
Signing another right winger in the summer would've been suicide, with Little expected back in October and Seol and Oster providing cover, plus Fae and Doyle if need be.

Oster was never good enough for the Prem
Agreed, Oster was never more than a poor attempt at a bad joke, anyone who saw that guy on the pitch and thought "now there is a premier league winger" would have to be either blind or stupid, and perhaps a little of both!

SCIAG Two years ago Little was fit, Seol was in form and so was Oster.
After Seol left with Little unfit, we needed a winger. The best solution ended up being our left winger on the right, which worked well and would've been used for the remainder of the season if Convey hadn't've got crocked. Effectively, we had three "right wingers" injured. We bought in another and then Oster got fit. Little and Convey were both expected back by the end of Febuary, but it was the opinion of most (including myself) that we should've got short term proven cover. I don't know why I'm saying all this.
Basically, we needed a right winger for about 9 months, from Sept to May.
Kebe is more than good enough and Henry is too, every club below Brum in the league (possibly excluding QPR) would give a lot to have either in their side.

SCIAG He was "alright", one of his disadvantages was he saw passes that the rest of the team didn't, much like with Matejovsky, then when he pulled them off, the player hadn't made the run, to a huge groan from the crowd. Not good enough for a team wanting to do any more than scrape away from relegation unless they're all on the same wavelength, but not nearly as bad as some made out (such as the elderly couple behind me).

That is just the lamest excuse for a player giving the ball away
If he's that good and such a visionary he should be able to adapt his play to suit the occassion and his team mates
Osters problem was that he wasn't disciplined enough to defender well enough and he wasn't a good enough passer or dribbler of the ball to counter that weakness. He gave the ball away too much and didn't add enough to the team because he's make poor decisions
He's a reasonable winger in this division true, but not really in the way we play. Thats why Coppell very rarely played him
In terms of keeping him for another season as we were down in this league, well he'd just ahve been holding back Henry's development and we knew he wasn't worth keeping for the Prem. He probably wanted a longer and more lucrative contract than we thought he was worth it
