JC If you look at the official stats for assists then SHunt has 16 so far this season, next is Kightly with 12 then Kebe with 8.
Given he has 6 league goals as well it is not surprising to me he is up there. I don't really care how successful his pass rate might be or accuracy of crosses the fact is that he has directly contributed to 22 of our 57 league goals.
I would be interested to see what that stat is if you take away his assists from set pieces. We have scored a hell of alot of goals from corners and free kicks, this is probably giving Hunt a massive boost in the actim charts (not to mention the fact that 4 of his 6 goals were penalties), I don't think he'd still be second if we still had Shorey in the team.
Also, there is a massive gulf in quality between Hunt's crossing from open play and the quality of his dead balls. From open play, Hunt is verging on woeful, however the quality of his delivery from a dead ball situation is head and shoulders above anyone else in the division. I'd say that at times his set pieces are keeping him in the team, but with the lack of any real competition that just isn't true.
