Evolving the atmosphere

As an STH in GU1 here's my take on it for what it's worth.

Started off really well with plenty of noise being generated and general backing of the team.

Unfortunately this didn't last too long and it became more of a standing at football campaign than an evolving the atmosphere campaign. Why would anybody want to 'Stand up for the biscuit boys' when they are there to support the Royals?

As for the swearing...well it wasn't that bad at all and it is to be expected at football. If people with kids don't want them to hear swearing they shouldn't bring them to football matches. I have 2 kids under 12 and I rather expect they enjoy a song with swearing in it to one without.

As for calling people gay because they choose to leave early well that is just totally outrageous. People pay their money and it's their choice entirely whether they stay the full course or not. Just because you choose to stay until the end so you can boo the team off doesn't necessarily mean everyone should do the same!!

I for one am glad people made the effort to address what is an alarming issue for me. The atmosphere this season has been worrying, especially with large away followings resulting in poor home results.

I think there are some infraustructure issues with the atmosphere; personally I feel the away fans should be located in the North-East corner, the biscuit boys should then be allowed to set up in the North stand, where there should be no reserved seating allowing people to sit next to who they want.

With season ticket renewals for next year being low, the club have a chance to address the layout errors within the ground which I have no doubt have been harming the noise of the home support and have cost us valuable points this season on the pitch.

The away fans won't be relocated, it's the easiest position of the ground to get the fans coaches back on the motorway as quickly as possible.

On a slightly different note, I'm suprised the club has never covered the open air mesh at the back of the stands with the sound proof plastic that some other grounds have. We be a good way of keeping the sound in as it were.

The answer to removing a home supporter is it is easier to identify and take subesquent action wether we like it of not. Any away supporters-it is obviosly much harder to identify the individual/s without the extra resource of CCTV and in relation to standing to not exacerbate a situation. Rightly or wrongly the stewards at the Mad tend to turn a blind eye to group standing and will only target individuals if the situation is controllable. If it isn't then the police are on hand to deal with this.

Has anything happened conderning crowd control to the Cardiff support - probably not. If it has been dealt with betwen both clubs - why hasn't this been communicated. Is it easier to ignore.

So we just need a whole lot of people standing up to stop them. Trouble with that is its never gonna happen if they always stamp out the small groups. It's like a police state banning congregations of more than 3 people in case its the start of a resistance. This is bollox. Mad Stad = Communist Russia.
