Jeffers217 What pleases me most? The absence of Stephen Hunt! WE've won a game he didnt play in and thus Coppell will keep the same team. Injuries to Harper may also help us in our cause because now we have 2 players in the centre who can actually pass the ball forwards. Get Doobs out and put Doyle in for Long and I'd be even more happy

I agree about Shunt and Harper, but why would you want Doyle back in the team when Long is scoring and works harder ? Doyle already has one eye on a summer move, so I'd leave him out from now on. To have a chance in the play-offs we need every single player 100% committed and I'm not sure he's been that since January. The same goes for Harper and Shunt.

I wouldn't say that Long works harder during a game then Doyle... If I were Doyle I think I would be pretty pissed off with the return of Dave Kitson & him being thrown straight back in to the team shafting Doyle out of position.

Good to see words like "passing the ball" and "keeping possession".
With Jem,Tabb,Kitson and Little in the side and the greedy Irish dwarf on the sidelines we can be a footballing side.
More of it please.

Last nights win gives some hope for still auto promotion but I doubt that only needing a point that Brum will slip up on Saturday.

I tend to agree, but just to be clear, although a draw v PNE would mean Brum are safe from us and Cardiff, it certainly does not guarantee them promotion. If Sheff U do beat Swansea in the 3 o'clock kick off, Brum will need to win in the televised match v PNE.

PNE and Swansea HAVE to win to have any hope of being in the playoffs.

Could be interesting on Saturday

its almost as if it has got to the point where there has been so much negative posting on this board that some people not naming names would rather us loose so they look right and coppell walks quicker! and yeah it sounds stupid but i wouldnt put it past some posters on here!

great win tonight royals lets gain some momentum now and see where that takes us come may !

I was being perfectly positive about the result. That has nothing to do with telling Spacey he's being a prick.

True, but i think Brum have an unfair advantage here knowing the result of the Sheff Utd game before they kick off. Let's hope they play for a draw and get stuffed 8)

Fairplay and well done to the Derby fans aswell, 31,000 for a 2nd tier game is a superb achievement and the atmosphere was very good from the home side despite the battering their team took.

Do we have an unfair advantage playing on Monday - knowing whether it's worth fighting for a win or not?

Preston might have nothing to play for by then which will not be good news for us.

Handsome Man In a tense nervous play-off final looking like a 0-0 on Wembley's dodgy pitchy, I would rather have S Hunt taking the corners and free kicks than anybody else: he must play.

You've got to be joking-he hasn't been doing the business on our very own dodgy pitch so why do you think he would at Wembley?
Keep the little runt away from the team along with Lita and we might even do something.

Ithink Little's comments says it all really. Hits the nail on the head as to why I think we haven't been playing well.

We only play well when we pass. Don't frickin' hoof the ball - it doesn't work for us!

Thoroughly enjoyed last night - more so for the fact that there were very few of us there.

Excellent team performance and in the main agree with most of the assessments. Harding was nervous at the start and performance showed - but with Bikey constantly in his ear he soon improved. Kebe poor until the cross - Long impressed me greatly and moreso Tabb when running at the Defenders, refreshing to see.

Even Hunt looked lively when he came on. Renewed optimism and all that.

Hope not too many of you got caught in the speed cameras coming back down the motorway - 40Mph restrictions were ridiculous and so many getting caught out.

To be honest I get the feeling Doyle is just fcuked having run himself into the ground last 3 seasons. Not sure he has Hunt style comitment problems and I've heard Coppell has decided to rest Doyle for the play offs.

I've said this for a while now.

Doyle always seems to go through spells of poor form when he just looks knackered and like he shouldn't be out there. We've never really had the players, or a manager with enough bottle, to leave him out for a rest and we end up flogging him to death and making him half the player he should be.

We saw it last season, and we've seen it in the past with Kitson, and again this season it seems with Hunt who had to play through an injury that they've now admitted effected his form too.

We've also had 5 disallowed goals against them this season. Mind you they don't count.

In which case a rejuvenated Doyle can play the Nicky Forster-role in the last 10 minutes oft he play-off semi-final.

31,000 for a team at the wrong end of the table and struggling. their support sounded good on the radio last night. PUTS US TO SHAME. If we made more effort getting behind the team instead of sniping at each other things might just be a bit more tolerable. That aside, I am extremely pissed off that we are still in with a shout and having my hopes raised again. Suppose that's why I love this club!

From the clips on shown on Sky this morning it was nice to see some quality crossing leading to Kitson getting on the end of things in the box.

Both Rosenoir and Kebe's crosses were excellent.

I wonder whether the most salient expression last night was "good pitch".

Actually average noise from there support and left on droves when the second goal went in. Stunned silence for the first 10 minutes.
