Managers and footballers should never go back, otherwise I would be quite happy with Pardew.
Curbishley would be good, so would Rogers or any of the other young manageers mentioned.
The main thing is it is now not going to be Sam Allardyce.

Surely throwing Alan Pardew's name in, is pure journalistic fantasy?? I'd be gutted if JM took him back tbh.

Avon Royal Alan Curbishley was interviewed on SSN last week. When asked about a return to management he said there was something he was definitley interested in, but that "someone had to make a decision first".

Read into that what you will.

I heard that club was Newcastle and the person wh had to make a decision was Alan Shearer.

Bugger.

In the NOTW this morning it says

'Brendan Rodgers looks to take over from Steve Coppell if Reading do not win promotion. Watford boss Rodgers, 36, has done well at Vicarage Road since replacing Aidy Boothroyd in November and is a former Reading player and youth coach. Coppell was persuaded to stay on after relegation last year but is fancied to quit if the Roaysl fail in thier bif to clinch promotion this term'

Not sure of either papers history for truths, but the NOTW has more pictures in which keeps my attention, so I'd rather go with that.

Rodgers would be great. Not sure how Watford would take it though.

It is probably wishful thinking to hope we can get Curbs.

In order of preferance of some names off the top of my head:

Curbs
Rodgers
Pardew
Hoddle
O'Leary (would be great with the kids and must be keen on a return to football? :| )

His time in charge before Pardew was appointed was bad enough.

We need a completly new approach, new coaching staff, new ideas, new everything.

Dillon and Wally to folow Coppell. Sad as it is for Coppell to go, but we need a new start.

Deathy, although i can understand the sentiments, there are many positive aspects to how this club has been run. The academy is starting to bear fruit and the players coming through are either getting first team or are being given the xperience and chance to break through into the first team with the loan chances elsewhere.

The club is grounded finanically compared to others who are now struggling with their academys and having to wind them down. The team will be broken down and reviewed during the closed season which is natural progression, again though by how far will depend on the success of the play offs. Coppell will see out his tenure at the club and another manager will come in, hopefully with a fresher outlook and aim to put his mark on the team, playing style and training ethos. (Absolutely no reflection on Coppell). The closed season will be an interesting time for this club which ever division we are in.

Glen Hoddle attends Reading matches and lives locally and is often seen in the town..So?Could well be.
