Sarah Star
James Henry, Robson-Kanu and Jay Tabb What about us?

Rodgers rates Henry! He had him watched while at Millwall. Tabb will make a great impression in the summer I'm sure. He did really well when everyone else around him looked half arsed at the end of the season. RK is another youngster who needs to get his head down. Hunt could go, and Convey hasn't been replaced yet either.

Royalwaster Priskin scored 14 last season - and most of them towards the end of the season; Rasiak got a fair few as well. Is Rasiak available on a free from Southampton by the way?

750k Saints want and Rodgers wasn't keen on Rasiak at first but changed mind soon afterwards.

I think Priskin and McAnuff really improved under BR and are out of contract next summer along with Smithy.

Mind you how much do you really need more attacking players?

He really rated young Ross Jenkins in midfield too..

BTW Damien Francis quit before Rodgers got to the club!

Given we failed to go up almost entirely as a result of problems in attack I'd say it's the area we need to shake things up the most !

Sort of disagree here. The best attackers in the world would have struggled to score for us in the second half of last year given the awful service they were given. If you aint got the ball at your feet...

Fair comment !

I was thinking of attacking players as more than just the front two.

Even when we did create chances (and we created plenty in quite a lot of games) the forwards lacked sharpness

agreed. Given we're going to lose Doyle, don't have Kitson and have shifted Lita, we're going to be short on experienced goalscorers.

We're also going to "lose" SHunt which leaves us with Kebe and Henry. Then there is the misfiring central midfield. Although there is plenty of talent and numbers there. So far there hasn't really been a great combination found.

Contrast with a very good defensive record all season and two of the three main culprits for poor distribution being gone already and the defence looks pretty solid to me. Maybe a 'keeper is required. Maybe not. About all I'd go for is sign Harding for cover and flog Rosenior to the knackers yard or some shit hoof merchant club and bring in a right back who doesn't have a crap temperament and can actually pass the ball to a team mate.

I predict those words being eaten next season !
Rosenior is a far better player than he showed at times last season. Strikes me as exactly the sort of player that Rodgers will bring the best out of.

Did IR just say Rosie has a bad temperament?

Congrats, that is on a par with Ideal's post for most idiotic post of the month so far.

I understand what he meant ( too many silly cards, a few times when he's had a go at colleagues when he'd made a mistake) but I wouldn't call it a major character flaw. If he has a bad temperament I'd shudder tothink how one would describe Bikey !!

How many of his cards were for dissent? Two reds for second yellows wasn't it?

Player with an attitude problem. Or at the very least just a fukwit. And one of the worst passers in the team based on last season. And one of the least capable of staying on his feet. And one of the most guilty of aimless hoofing.

'greed. The amount of times he tried the punt up the line to sprint onto it and failed was laughable

I can also reveal that Watford player-of-the-year Smith is a top target for Rodgers. There is no ban on Royals’ new boss raiding his former club, who are in desperate need of money.

Smith, who has one year left on his current deal at Vicarage Road, revelled under the guidance of Rodgers and would love to link up with his ex-boss again.

Well no great surprise ofcourse and he is out of contract next summer.

Very good player at this level and will score/create goals although you won't be preared to pay too much as Tommy is nearly 30 or so.

Wouldn't mind seeing Priskin and Smith at RFC.

No disrespect, but can you tell me what's so good about Smith? I've never seen what the fuss is about, tbh...

Was his foul at Palace down to a 'bad attitude' ? I can't think he really displayed a bad attitude last season. He was hardly in the Rooney class for dissent, just needs to bite his tongue sometimes. Hardly a capital offence !

.

But on the other hand also quite able to play neat, quick balls on the ground and link with other players. As I said, a decent player with all the right attributes who just didn;t deliver consistently last season. Gret material for Rodgers to work his magic on. I'd much rather we had a player like him who has the ability and needs to be put back on track than a 'trier' who gives his all but just hasn;t got the required amount of skill.

Nope just down to having been absolutely rinsed for 80minutes by Victor Moses. Rosenior isn't my cup of tea in all honesty, not just for the reasons above, he just isn't very good.

As for Tommy Smith, not the future and would offer precisely nothing IF Reading were to get promoted. He'd be better off sticking with Watford, Priskin was massively improved last year and fairly young so more favourable of that one personally.

Is Jay De Merit still at Watford...He's quite a good centre half.

I`d second that, tough, uncompromising and scores the odd goal as well, Pearce, Ingimarsson and De Merit would be a good central defensive line up. Any 2 of the 3 at one time I`d be quite happy with.
