Ian Royal I'd class a minor cup as one the top flight wasn't involved in. Not one they are/were.

Regardless 1 title is pathetic for such a massive club as Saints. How upset they must be finishing below puny Reading for at least 5 consecutive seasons.

Naturally, i couldnt give a flying **** about them either. 8)

How's the new stadium coming?

For someone who doesn't consider us a rival you seem to have got remarkably riled. And be spending rather a lot of time putting us right...

So you presume i'm Pompey i assume with the stadium remark???

They, or us as you like to think, could have 20,000 seater and you could have 40,000, yet they'll, or us, always be considered bigger than you, even if you were a few divisions above.

What guessing game? You were always going to support one of the "mighty" southcoast sides from your laughable reaction.

Ian Royal I never really had an issue with Oxford. Aldershot is way before my time. I couldn't stand Swindon, but how long has it been since we played them in the league? That's rather lost it's edge.

Any Reading fan who has a problem with Wycombe or Brentford I just don't understand. I have a similar patronising soft spot to Floyd for both.

Pompey and Saints are more rivals to us (or at least me) these days. In my early days based purely on the near exclusive coverage they got on the local news. The fact that they are both total scummer clubs helps as well.

We're too small for Chelsea or Arsenal or Spurs. Fulham and Watford are too innocuous. QPR, maybe, but that's got more to do with the hoops than anything and I find it hard to hate a club who wear the same colours as us.

Wolves have been thoroughly avenged and the dislike has faded a great deal. Sheffield United was only ever a pantomine villain. Bolton I stil dislike a lot, but that's now got less to do with the Play Off Final than it has to do with years of that fat cheating scumbag.

Very Good Post. :D i agree with the majority of points on there
and with watford its not because they never did anything to us as such, its just now we're one of the teams that they hate, because of the various reasons. But saying that they can't exactly hate us for the 'ghost goal' because i mean do cardiff hate us for Feders' scoring?

The Ghost Goal has nothing to do with us. Ref and lino combo only on that one.

I used to dislike so many teams it was frightening, including Watford. I think I've mellowed a bit in the last 5 years. I'm even finding it increasingly difficult to dislike Pompey, although Carlin was trying to sort that one out.

Yeah I know but it's just some Watford fans dislike us because it was awarded to us.

I'd like to see more recent and realistic rivals in the poll.
Like Saints, Pompey, Bristol City, Sheffield Utd.

Before you start, I know the Blades aren't strictly local like the rest are but we've had some tasty bouts between us recently.

Well unless Basingstoke or Maidenhead get promoted a few divisions no one is really that local. Even Swindon and Oxford are stretching it a little.

I just do not get this rivalry with Aldershot i have supported Reading for over thirty years and i can only remember playing them a couple of times. Anyway they have been non-league for years.

In terms of history, geography and trouble at games Oxford United is the only true rivals . Also a lot of their fans hate us as much as they hate Swindon.

Jackson Corner For old gits like me it will always be Aldershot. Back in the 70's and 80's it was the only local ground we took, I can remember Swindon and Oxford both taking the south bank, something we never managed at the Manor or Swindon, although we did put up some good fights dispite being outnumberd on a few ocasions.

An even older git can recall watching the storming the terracing behind the goal at Oxford in 1967 and also chasing Swindon fans around their ground, this whilst sections of the Reading support fired bonfire rockets from rolled up programmes. 1966 or perhaps 67. Ah... those were the days. No one then was even sure where Aldershot was.

Fair play to the 60's boys. Where did it go wrong in the 70's and 80's? I took a few kickings against Swindon Oxford and both Bristol clubs in the 80's. Aldershot was always our saving grace. Anyone on here remember smashing a train up on the way back from the rec around 81-82 it was early in the season made the front page of the Post on Monday.

Someone on here will research this, but I think that Aldershot (in their two guises) have spent more seasons as a league club than Oxford.
