It seems you are talking to yourself on here so I thought I would join in as I love watching sport/a bet and you seem to be doing ok. Do you do footie spread betting? I do every year (had a bad year last year) and I am formulating my opinions for the new season (gonna place some now and wait for more transfers on others). Would be interested in thoughts....:

Wigan....40/42 Bolton....40/42 Stoke....38+/40+ Wolves....35/37

I've just opened up a Sporting Index account though I haven't given it much thought as to my ante post handicap betting for the season ahead, more likely I'll be using it on the bookings/shirt numbers/time of 1st goal markets besides other sports.

As to ante post ahead of the new season, I can't imagine I'll get as good a season as I done last year round with backing S.Cox @ 40's to be top scorer League 1, Burnley on the Handicap in the Championshop, and flutters on various teams in cup competitions. I'm potentially liking Blackburn on the handicap if they sign a decent striker in, Allardyce has a good pedigree of getting constant top 10 finishes and there is no reason to suggest they can't achieve it. But mainly, I'll leave it till the last possible opportunity, wait for the Racing Post to publish their in-depth preview (Should be Wed 5th/Thurs 6th).

Price watch, Notts County have shifted heavily in League 2, they've just been taken over by a new consourtium to they could be someone to look out for.

If you fancy laying Newcastle promotion it's 3.9 on betfair but there isn't much money around for it.

I lost money on betting they'd go down last year. This year I'm betting they'll stay UP. I reckon they'll be near the bottom by Christmas, and buy their way out of trouble in Jan just like Sunderland did. So I'm going to wait until the end of the year and if I'm right put some money on then.

bobbybottler today - backing Bangladesh to beat West Indies in today's ODI cricket.

Yay!

Odds of 4-5 on a team which has won every match on tour, what a gift. It would have been value at 2/5 IMVHO.

Anyway, I'm leaving the MLS alone this weekend, and allowing heart to rule head with a small punt on Feyenoord to beat Nijmigen on Sunday afternoon.

I may well lump on West Brom to beat Newcastle at 13/10 this weekend. Bury to beat Bournemouth at 11/10 is also a great bet imo.

Newcastle might be having a whole heap of problems, but 4.10 is a crazy price.

Notts County @ evens with Corals, seems a great bet on paper, hopefully that will convert to grass.
