Excellent signing, LOLZ at all the twats who blamed Madejski for Coppell not signing players - can we have a name and shame thread?

YateleyRoyal
Arch I haven't been so excited about a signing since Greg Halford.

I was genuinely excited when we signed him....

I think that everyone was on quite a high at the time.

We all thought that it was a signing not to be sniffed at.

What do you think you'll bring to the club?

Hopefully I'm going to bring a lot of things. With the club kind of aiming for promotion this year :|

Depends which chest the money comes from to be honest, if it from the Kitson money that was said to be available to make signings then perhaps you have a point, however if it from the Doyle money, as the rest has gone back into the club, then you have no point, and the truth is we may never know.

Stillwe have spent £2m and JM says it shows we are determined to get back to the Prem!!!!

Do you not understand how football finances work? You know we'll have had one of the largest wage bills in the Championship last season right? Plus all the other expenditure on the training ground, hotel expansion, media suite and so forth - Boro have hardly been splashing the cash since flogging Downing for over double the Kitson transfer fee have they? I'm sure Leroy Lita will be banging the goals in for them just like he has the last 2 years for us though and fire them back to promotion...

Maybe if Coppell hadn't pissed away £2.5 million each on Fae and Halford and another £1.5 million on a player so good he was farmed out to Asia from Fulham, the transfer kitty might have been bigger.

If you listen to the interview, it's used a filler as he forms the rest of the sentence in his mind. It's fairly common in some areas, like "like" iirc

Funny how now he supposedly has more cash at his disposal he STILL can't attract the players, isn't it? The real tossers on this board are the RTGs such as yourself who can't take the fact that people do have negative views about the club, which are more often than not well justified. Top at Xmas? Someone's had a few too many sherrys.

I do it all the time, only my filler seems to change, you know, every couple of months. I even get annoyed with myself for, err, doing it?

At least you ate your words royalee.

Hahaha, oh dear. In my defence we hadn't signed all the players to complete our current squad and he hadn't sold Andy Hughes, but well done Coppell, you've proven me completely wrong.

I'm such a 'tard I think I say "well it's kind of like err..." which is about three rolled into one. Very frustrating.

That would be the same Halford and Fae on whom he recovered his outlay then would it?

Harpers So Solid Crew looks like birmingham may have come up with a higher bid now. £2.5m

And where does that come from??

No mention anywhere on the web.

I have it on good authority that an exclusivity agreement was signed - meaning that until midnight Thursday night we were the only ones allowed to speak to Mills.
Wouldn't have mattered if Brum doubled the bid - at least until Friday

I know that Pardew wanted to keep Upson, go back and remember how well he did for us, i know that Pardew was told he could have Upson, but only if he could get him for x and pay him y, both figures were well down reality, and he moved to birmingham instead, who made a tidy profit on him, JM would not take that risk at that time.

We still wasted the money on them at the time as opposed to signing players up to the job

Halford I could understand as he was an up and coming English player who was not only well thought of but versatile too

Fae I never understood. We apparently watched him for ages then appeared surprised when he wasnt the player we needed

Its not necessarily the £££ wasted, but the opportunity to sign someone that cost us dearly

Dunno how I feel bout this transfer- I'm just glad we've spent some bloody money! Looks like a decent enough signing- now for the more important business we need to do- get rid of Shunt and buy a STRIKER

Maybe some of the £2M we got from Wolves for Harps will be used to get a striker in?

hence my none fitted in or added much, however signings are a risk at all clubs, and at our level 32m it is a bigger risk than at the rooney ronaldo level, tho even that goes wrong, someone remind me who signed Shevchenko for chelsea???
