Fedders
Rosenior, Mills, Pearce, Armstrong
Henry, Harper, Marek, Kebe
Nhunt, Long

Bench: Andersen, Bertrand, Cisse, Karacan, HRK, Church, Mooney

i dont rate long but he seems to have had a good pre season and church/mooney are yet to proove themselves. hopefully as we go through the season long will be replaced by mooney or church

Robson Kanu replaces Kebe on the wing if he is as inconcistent as last year
Karacan is ideal to cover harper as the hard worker in midfield

brendywendy mills has had 45 mins of a preseason.........

Alternatives: one of two midfielders.

If he's not fit, Cisse could go in, but ideally Mills gets the nod.

Not signing 'til at earliest wednesday, 45 minutes of preseason, game on saturday.

I'd be surprised if he comes straight in for Forest.

Yes would be surprised if Mills came straight in as has only played the 45m pre season that Ian Royal stated. Also would surely not be anywhere near up to speed with current set up etc. Tuesday in the cup I feel.

Forest:

Cisse
Pearce(c)
Bertrand

Tabb
Gunnar
Davies

Kanu
Church
Kebe

Think he'll make the bench.

And I'd like to point out I stole from someone else the bit about him only playing 45 minutes.

We need a bloody out and out goalscorer. Doyle would have been amazing in the new formation... up on his own or on the right... 25 goal season, easy.

Seeing as Long's conversion rate of shots to goals is so much better than Doyle's he should comfortably get 25+ then.

How come there is universal acceptance that Long is not as good a footballer as Doyle, yet, despite the fact that Long scores more goals per minute and per shot than Doyle, he is not considered an out and out striker?

What is an out and out striker if not someone who ain't great around the pitch but has the happy knack of sticking the ball in the back of the net with both feet and head?

Well thank you; I thought it was a good post myself but I thought it'd more likely attract abuse than polite acknowledgement...!

Perhaps you can view Long's goals to shots on target ratio as so good, because he only shoots when he's got a relatively easy chance. Where as Doyle was more speculative and created more from half chances.

I'm not saying that's the case, but Doyle was clearly a better player and a better goalscorer than Long for anyone who has watched the two over more than a couple of games. In some ways I think Doyle's work rate and all round game actually prevented him scoring when the team was in poor form because he spent so much time running the channels and helping the team elsewhere, when he could have been in the box waiting to convert a chance.

Problem with Long is he isn't a fox in the box and he doesn't have the skills of Doyle. up top next to a decent striker with good link play and he will pick up goals. But he really doesn't have the attributes required to be a striker on his own and I don't think he will ever be consistently good enough to get 20+ goals in a championship season. I did think that he showed evidence that he was coming good and had sorted out at least his touch and had improved hius footballing brain at the end of last season. But by most accounts he has reverted to his previous form in pre-season.

We need him to come good this season and I'll be delighted to hold my hands up if he does, but I'm not expecting it.

Surely Hunt can't be involved after only 90 minutes of pre-season? :?
