Royalee Shit, I'm being ignored by a 'tard who can't spell 'boredom'.

Which is why I stuck you on ignore. I would not expect you to have the intelligence to understand. Obviously not one dimensional enough for you.

I got fed up with the inactivity of the Board of Directors (lol) at the club while we slithered to relegation - Board thus Boardom. Plus, It is a comment made by John Lydon at the end of one of his songs - Terminal Boredom. I think I can leave the rest to your feak and weeble imagination.

Is this the same board who spent £2 million on a player last week and Coppell (your hero no doubt) praised all the way through his reign? You seem to have quite the warped imagination to underline your stupidity with - thank you for explaining your username, now I've got another reason why you're a twat to add to my growing list.

Point of order though, TB - how can you both ignore and respond at the same time?

Occasionally I will open posts from people I have chosen to ignore just in case I am surprised by the quality of the post in question. Guess what

You should change your ID to General Hindsight. Does this signing maintain our Premier League status? So why compare a statement I made a year or so ago with the activity of the club in the last week or so?

Royalee and Coppell (your hero no doubt) praised all the way through his reign?

Do you need me to dig out all the times I complained about a lack of a Plan B? I sincerely believe that we were fortunate to have a manager of Coppell's ability. I also believe that serious changes should have been made last season esp with regard to the backroom staff to try and freshen things up. Again, this is something that I have stated on here in the past.

Royalee You seem to have quite the warped imagination to underline your stupidity with - thank you for explaining your username, now I've got another reason why you're a twat to add to my growing list.

I think that you need to take the blinkers off so that you can see the wider picture. Not everything is monochrome.

think most people on here is missing the point, it sounds like Harper turned down the move either for the doubt of 1st team football next season at wolves or his love for this club. Harper would bleed for this club, gets on with everyone and no matter what anyone thinks would be missed at this club if he left. there is still plenty for harper to give to this club. thought he played well on tuesday night and if he stays at Reading will still get plenty of first team football next season! Fact

Royalee.

Lets draw a line in the sand.

SSC - is the most successful manager we have ever had.

He had a poor last 6 months in the Premiership and we were relegated. At that point in time the car park crew and others wanted him to stay. They believed (as did I) that despite that period he was the best person to get us back. He publicly acknowledged his failing ( too much loyalty etc ) and therefore we believed he would change, he didn't, and at the end of the day we still has a relatively succesful season. Albeit we didn't progress on the pitch.

You didn't agree and have spent the last 12 months ramming that down our throats. Ok, we were blinded by his previous success, you were more pragmatic and less reliant on the emotion of it all.

One question - who would you have had last year to take over? And would you have given them the unbridled support you have shown to BR?

I believe the club has learnt in the last year. And if the situation was to be repeated, I don't think we would keep an incumbant who is showing no signs of being able to change things. In the building blocks of the club I think that is a significant lesson learnt.

I think that BR is the right man at the right time for RFC, and I don't think there was that 'right man' available last year.

So, to finish this discussion; you were more right than the majority of us, your fellow supporters. The time of SSC has passed, lets all look forward instead of sqabbling about the past.

Harper did not turn down a move

Mick McCarthy wants to sign him but he can't justify signing another player who is injured. He has been told that he won't be fully fit for a few weeks, so it might be that he signs on deadline day.

now im the biggest club apologist in the whole world, but even i can see the inherrant pointlessness of arguing that 2 million spent out of the gazillions we got in for sold players is somehow a statement our ambition.

You are a bully on here Royalee, you really are a horrible person. I wonder if you're like that in real life or it's just the persona that you use to hide you're inadequacies in everyday life.

You have you're opinions, great. Everyone has their opinions, that's what football is all about. You seem to get angry and upset when someone doesn't agree with you, you seem to be on a personal mission to get everyone to hate Steve Coppell, what are you going to do, march 24000 people round his house and burn it down? Lynch mob rule!! Just calm down and enjoy football. It's a game.

Also why don't you sit next to your dad anymore in the lower west? Is it because everyone shouts and you both for spouting the stupidest things ever heard at a game of football?

Actually, Royalee may have been "right" but only in the way a broken clock is right twice a day. If I'm getting the right person here, anyway, because isn't the root of all this the fact that he was calling for SC's head way back in 2005? So, if what I'm told is correct, he banged on and banged on about how crap SC is and almost inevitably he was proven nominally correct because - as so often is the case - the managerial reign ended in (relative) failure (we'll still probably do worse this season than last, in terms of league position anyway).

Royalee has a lot of interestig opinion to impart - we just need to learn to tune out his slightly obsessive desire to paint our greatest ever manager as the devil incarnate.

Talking of evil - anyone else getting weird messages blocking them from using the forum when using Internet Explorer? I guess if you are, you won't be able to read this!

LOL, I am deeply sorry people appear to take comments on an internet messageboard to heart so much that they feel they are being 'bullied', although it has made me giggle somewhat!

I enjoy football very much thanks - a lot more now that the old management has left and the team is now being run excellently as opposed to based on nostalgia and sentiment. It would be very stupid indeed to go on a mission to make everyone hate Steve Coppell as he had the club's two most successful ever season - HOWEVER, that does not mean he is untouchable and in the last two and a half years in charge he undid pretty much everything he achieved by stripping away the positivity at the club and wasting the opportunity he had. I don't hate him for it - I'm sure he's a nice bloke, but the hero worship he still gets around some parts is highly baffling.

Lastly, although I'm flattered someone evidently cares where I sit at matches to the extent they felt necessary to begin and inquest on here, it stems from my insistence that I would not renew last season due to the club being taken backwards and I could see the wasted season coming. This season I will be attending every single game I possibly can again and giving my full support, although not in the West Stand which has begun to bore me slightly given the distinct lack of atmosphere. Would you like me to update you if and when that changes so you can update your diary?

Fair point about Rodgers and so forth not being available a year ago - I remember wanting Martinez or Gary Johnson at the time but I'm very happy we've got Rodgers now, which I think we all can agree on. I'm very much happy to look forward and support the team and am very very excited about this new era, although it still annoys me slightly when people mock Rodgers for being up front and honest for having 'no class' and being out of order when it comes to interviews just because he's not Coppell and use the board as an excuse for our former manager's fall from grace when that simply isn't the case. John Madejski is far more responsible for the growth and success of Reading Football Club than any manager past or present and some people tend to forget this.

Some on here would have you believe every transfer fee lines Madejski's pockets...we weren't selling players to fund the transfers of Lita, Seol, Halford, Fae and Bikey.

He usually dropped one at a time and quickly got worried about not having enough experience if opponents so much as looked at our goal. He went on record as saying he treated Federici and Karacan hardly and I think the same can be said of Pearce. You can't tell me that arguably the three best players on the pitch on Saturday shouldn't have played more last season given we had the likes of an ageing Hahnemann, Michael 'shit where's my man gone?' Duberry and one of the weakest central midfields around.
