No Kelly & What's happend to Feds distro

by Charles Dapper » 20 Oct 2009 12:48

Oh great things can only get better surely...

Kelly is now about to go under the knife to resolve his arm dislocating problem. So will be out for sometime still.

Since allowing Rosey to go out on a season loan (no doubt not coming back, I think we really miss him),we are now left with no cover as such at right back, and only Cummings who is a close runner in the worst purchase of the year, I'm still torn between him and Rasiak.

Saturday was another woeful performance as with many a modern full-back he is very lacking defensively & I'm not sure what he offers going forward.

Yes, I know he's young & maybe has potential I'm feeling a good run in league 1 would have been good for him.

Oh and why I'm on here, can anyone explain why Feds has changed his distribution?
Last year it was amazing. He'd have the ball out straight away normally with a inch perfect kick to someone in space in the middle of the pitch.

Now he looks like USA, he holds the ball up, allows everyone to regroup and then bypasses our 5 man strong midfield for whoever our lone striker is whose been marked out of the game in the other teams box.

I like Feds, think he's a better all round keeper than USA, and he's proved how good he is at shot stopping, but why oh why is he doing it?

Is it because of Sal?

He is the same coach as last year, now he's concentrating on Feds full time has he been able to ruin this part of his game?

Or

Is it Blandon Bodgers?

The man who come to show us all what exciting and sexy football we've been missing, this means hoofing the ball down to a tall Polish person.

I can only assume the change in Fed's play is down to Rodgers telling Bibbo he's changed the tactics - he seems to want to do everything in his power to be as unlike SC as possible. Which just shows what a fricking idiot he is.

Letting Rosenior go was a mistake in my opinion but considering the grief he was given by the fans pretty much blaming him for every goal we conceded then its quite laughable for people to whinge about it now.

As for Fed's distribution, its become a well known weapon and a lot of the time opposition teams just jump on him immediately to stop the quick kick out. Other than that we don't have much of an aerial advantage anywhere on the pitch (our tactic early season seemed to be to use Kebe's height  ) so once again the opposition know that if they mark up properly down the sides they can stop a quick getaway and restrict him to kicks down the middle which is meat and drink to most Championship centre-halves.

I always thought Rosey was badly treated, and felt that he got the blame for a weak centre back pairing. Yes I do mean Durberry, why people would insist on shouting "DUUUUUUUUWBS" every week when he was responsible for so many goals. Rosey had a very good turn of speed, and could put in a good cross.

I was not "whingeing" just stating an opinion, I'm glad you had a laugh though.

I always rated Rosenior (and said so) but was very much in the minority.

As for Fed's distribution, I don't think opposition players trying to stop the quick kick out is the main reason for the change - he only has to take a couple of steps and they are not allowed to cover his movement, with blocking the kick earning a booking - rather Rodger's preference to build up short passing moves from the back.

Am i the only one who thinks Rasiak has done ok since he's arrived, and once Long is Fit those 2 could make a half decent partnership?

Well, obviously they can only go in one at a time.

Whether they are allowed to under the rules or not that is exactly what they do. All they have to do is delay him for a couple of seconds and the momentum is lost. He's looked for it on mumerous occasions and been stopped. You're right Rodgers is trying to mix the distribution up more but thats hardly a bad thing is it given how much criticism Hahnemann used to get for never using his full-backs.?

Wasn't referring directly to you as the words "fans" and "people" would indicate but if you wish to take it personally then so be it.
