Rosenior looked totally at home this afternoon in a bottom-of-the-table long-ball crud-fest.

Rosenior had a damn good game today and is clearly streets better than Cummings and poor old Jay Tab who is having to do his best in an unfamiliar position. Hardly put a foot wrong, got his centre back out of jail with his speed and very good challenge when Church was closing on the keeper and looking favourite to score, and also cleared one effort off the line. Also set Priskin up with a fantastic chance after a strong run forward and pinpoint cross.

Also, from what BBCRB were saying, he appears to have been set up by Jonny - can't spell- Fordham either misquoting him or using quotes out of context in his article about Rosenior's feelings towards RFC. Seems Rosenior had some very strong words with said 'gentleman' after the game.

As for our boo boys. Our players do hear when you get on their backs - according to Rosenior 'they were booing me in the second part of last season so I wasn't surprised when they booed me today!'

Jay Tabb had a good game today, he was the pick of the Reading team (which admittedly isn't saying very much). He was always looking for the simple pass and used the ball well. Rosenior just wellied it forward at every opportunity as ever, although he did keep our left-wing pretty much in check for the most part.....that being central midfielder Sigurdsson, another Rodgers tactical masterstroke . Unsurprisingly with only one recognised winger starting, Reading tended to lack width until Kebe came on. No fan of the Kebe am I, but at least our side was more balanced in the last twenty minutes or so in which Kebe was on the pitch.

tbf though, it's hard not to be better than the performances Shaun Cummings has put in and Jay Tabb looked excellent in that position - good enough for MOTM I thought.

It was also a bit of a wind-up by Johnny Fordham who made a mountain out of a molehill.

watched 8 games live last year + about 8 on the box. That's 16 out of 49 including the play-offs. Plenty to get an opinion I reckon.

Although I agree to an extent, that doesn't necessarily say an awful lot for the abilities of otherwise of Rosenior. Mind you - Tabb, sadly, hasn't really quite proven himself deserving of a regular place in the middle of the park.

This debate could go on and on. He spurred us on at times last year. Thinking of the Coventry and Watford home games and the Sheffield Weds away games.

Yeah fair enough, 'spurring on' is all well and good, but as with Mr Harper and his waving which has been shown up for what it is at Bramall Lane, I'm unconvinced with regards to Rosenior. We shall see though.

I didn't see Cummings last couple of performances before he was dropped, which I understand were atrocious. But he showed plenty of promise as far as I'm concerned after his debut in the couple of games I did see him.

He doesn't have a lot of experience and is in a poor team lacking confidence right now. Personally I'd still rather have him at the club than Rosenior. Although Tabb is doing an excellent job at full back right now.

Personally I'd have loved to see Rosenior up against McAnuff or Kebe all game. Sig is a good player, but he's not a winger and you need to put Rosenior on the back foot and isolate him so he loses his cool. Sadly Sig didn't seem to be able to do that.
