Reading vs. Scunny MATCH THREAD - Sponsored by Bounce Back

by SteveRoyal » 12 Dec 2009 14:48

Awful title.
Nevermind.

Teams are in:
Reading (4-3-3): Federici; Cummings, Tabb, Ingimarsson (c), Pearce; Cisse, Matejovsky, Sigurdsson; McAnuff, Robson-Kanu, Rasiak
Subs: Hamer, Armstrong, Mills, O'Dea, Karacan, Gunnarsson, Kebe

Scunthorpe (4-5-1): Lillis; Jones (c), Williams, Byrne, Mirfin; Togwell, Wright, Thompson, McCann, Hayes; Hooper
Subs: Slocombe, Wright, Friend, Spence, Sparrow, O'Connor, Forte

Cummings is back in, Bertrand is ill. Sigurdsson returns to the side and Robson-Kanu starts.
A chance for Cummings and Robson-Kanu to prove themselves worthy of the shirts over Tabb and Kebe.

Really hope HRK puts in a good performance today. That left wing spot is up for grabs. Glad to see Rodgers give him a chance.

Reaping the benefits of the Bodgers' wonderfully balanced squad, that he put together with so much care and diligence during the last day of the transfer window.

4-5-1 at home v a team with one of the worst away records in the division who are also set up 4-5-1. oxf*rd goalfest!!!!!

Well done BR. Best team available (centre back choice subject to debate) and glad HRK has been given his fully deserved chance.

HRK and McAnuff will destroy scunny and we will score 5

Sort of meh about the lineup to be honest.

I think left-footed Tabb will swap sides to move to the left.
I hope Cummings impresses today...

Me too - so Tabb can move back into the midfield in the future if need be.

Hope Cummings can take his chance forget his poor performances and build on some of his better mid-run performances.

Nice to see Armstrong back in the squad, excellent player. The bench is a sign of Rodgers clueless handling of our attacking problem.

Thank Christ Sig (our top scorer)is back in, now Marek has someone to exchange passes with.

Good luck to Hal, he's got a lot of potential, I'd like to see him showing it today.

Still disappointed Cisse is in over Karacan, but he is a bit more physical I suppose and With Sig and Marek there is plenty of passing skill and movement in the middle this time.

ONE oxf*rd STRIKER IN A SQUAD OF 18 (EIGHTEEN!) YOU COCK!!!!!

Who else do we have though Ian?

Long, Hunt and Church injured, Bignall and Mooney out on loan, Vasilev unproven and unfit....who would you have then?

I would have had a loan striker in myself.

We have the new Gunnar bloke joining in two weeks, hopefully he'll do some good. However I wouldn't have a loan striker, I'd have Bignall and Mooney back here sharpish

You seem to have missed the point. We don't have any other options because Rodgers twiddled his thumbs rather than taking action and getting us cover. Something he could still actually do by recalling Mooney.

HRK playing well so far, just up behind Rasiak; Sig out on the left

That's exactly where I'd want Sig not HRK.

Good work from Reading, cleared for a corner by Scunny, then cleared again for another corner, Scunny keeper seems to be struggling with balls into the box.
