Crossbar challenging?

by STAR Liaison » 14 Dec 2009 21:45

I have heard of troubles in the North Stand when our players have a go at the crossbar challenge. Has anyone on here suffered or seen the results of flying footballs at half time or before the game?

Footballs in ending up in a stand once the ball misses the goal shocker

Whatever next - people complaining about the sun getting in their eyes?

Surely the club have covered their backs in any case, what with their "Beware of flying footballs" notices?

Unlikely, if they have assessed a risk and not taken actions to minimise said risk within the stadium risk assessment then they would be liable.

However they did take some action by selling Hunt!!!!

So one fan got knocked out in one game in ten years at the stadium.

Perhaps we should ban opposition players from the pitch seeing as one once kicked a ball into a kid's face in the East stand.

Perhaps we should put those big fences back up at the front of stands again? :|

No, but I said cross and Row FF (this is a very high row, near the back of the stand).

Those were the clues

:snoop:

I saw a lady get hit in the face on Saturday from a Darren O'Dea rocket. He was very apologetic and went over to make sure she was ok as soon as he did it, and at the final whistle.

Something I mentioned in the moments of the decade thread, but I saw Andy Hughes completely knock someone spark out with a bullet shot in 2003. Cracked me up!

Thank you for a serious response - I heard someone had a broken nose and I wanted to find out if it was a widespread problem that needs to be raised with the club. Crosses during the game are not at all what I was talking about as you can be expected to be watching the ball but before the game and at half time most people still in the stands are not watching the pitch and so can be taken by surprise and hurt or covered in hot coffee.

But if you all want to take the pi$$ that is fair enough.
