Royalee Coppell - destroyed everything Pardew and Madejski built yet enjoys hero worship for 2 good seasons in 6. Won't want to come back and face the music for what he realises he's done.

WORST post of the decade.

"Royalee in out of touch with reality shocker!"

Have to agree that this is the stupidest comment ever posted on HNA. And I've read lots of Woodcote Royal's.

2 good seasons? Finishing in the play-offs twice and narrowly missing out on the Premiership would have been 2 "good seasons". He gave us 2 unbelievable seasons and I saw my club achieve things I'd barely even dreamed of.

I don't understand your hatred of the best manager we've had. What sort of "fan" hates the manager who took us to the Premiership yet defends Rodgers? Coppell had weaknesses, but think about what they are to yourself. They won't apply in this situation - we really are in a situation which will play utterly to Steve's strengths and not his weaknesses.

Royalee Let's not let the fans decide...

the list is pretty shocking in fairness:

Burley - sacked by Ipswich, Hearts and Scotland, wouldn't be able to afford him and he wouldn't be able to do anything with this squad.

Coppell - destroyed everything Pardew and Madejski built yet enjoys hero worship for 2 good seasons in 6. Won't want to come back and face the music for what he realises he's done.

Sanchez - failed at Wycombe, failed at Fulham - does Alan Partridge want him though?

Cotterill - Burnley improved as soon as he left, mediocre to poor.

Curbishley - absolutely no way he'd come here with the lack of resources, LOL at him getting a mention, he's not stupid enough to take the job.

O'Driscoll - wouldn't come here from Doncaster as they don't have an idiot for a chairman.

Paul Hart - kicked out of Forest, Barnsley and Portsmouth, no thanks.

Hoddle - failed at Spurs and Wolves with reasonable money available, I don't think Jimmy Kebe would understand Eileen Drewery.

Tisdale - Doubt he'd come here - there must be better jobs available to him and he's enjoying it where he is.

Parkinson - Hated at Hull, has so far achieved nothing at Charlton.

Southgate - LOL

Ferguson - best candidate on paper, but he'd only work if he was backed financially, which is very unlikely given Madejski is 'cutting the cloth'.

re Sanchez, to say he failed at Wycombe is a bit rich considering they have never been as good since he left there. Kept Fuham up then struggled the next year. I think Sanchez with little or no resources is fine, it's when he gets cash to spend he didn't cover himself in glory at Fulham. Conveniantly left NI off there who would have him back tomorrow.

He wouldn't be my first choice but i'd sooner him than the clown who has just left.

Your post is an angry stroppy response that is quite laughable. You dismiss several candidates who have done more in a season than Rodgers has done in his lifetime. Fact is Rodgers has been a complete and utter disaster for this club and he's cost us an absolute fortune to first hire and then fire.

I have to say all of Royalee's posts right now make me think of little kid stamping on the ground, kicking, crying and screaming because their Mummy wouldn't buy them an ice cream.

I would not be disappointed if it was Hoddle - did well at Swindon and Southampton and didn't do badly at all at Chelsea.

I, like others, I don't think Curbishley would take the job but would love it if he did.

I would also love to see Coppell back but agree with previous comments that we are probably the one club in the land that won't be his next job.

I think Ferguson is the most likely choice of the board because they will assume he will be able to get Micheal Owen on loan from daddy :D

Would rather let McDermott have a go than see some of the names on that list take the reins.

I 've said it before and I will say it again Royalee does not have a clue what he is talking about. Great manager BR was, especially with his comment about still not having his type of player yet! Great moral booster for the rest of the team/squad. Well that was a quick revolution wasn't it :D

Royal Rother One suspects that Rodgers' men are all dead men walking so this, and the fact that our best players this season have been Rodgers' men (Bertrand, McAnuff, Raziak) leads me to fear a rudderless and somewhat demotivated team will take to the pitch on Saturday and thus suffer a heavy defeat.

5-0 would not surprise me.

'greed. In fact it's always looked to me that despite our problems the squad has been pretty much behind Rodgers, and that dressing room morale isn't too bad. The players have usually looked committed and motivated. I wonder how they'll feel about this sacking. My guess is probably a lot less chuffed than the majority of people on here.

Why isn't the obvious choice, John Barnes, on that list?

New manager:

Darren Ferguson. But I would rather see JAN JONSSON who has worked wonders at Stabaek IF in Norway. Great manager and a chip off the Coppell block.

I've won the Champions League with Reading on FM a few times. I must be worth a shout.

Hmm, would obviously like to see Curbs but I don't think he will come to us. Would love to see Parky but again don't think he will come. Think they will appoint Fergie Jnr. being out of contract and all

(.)Boobies(.) I don't know about anyone else, but I have a little fire in my belly this morning. In fact, looking outside my office window is a beautifull yellow and red sun rise over Reading.

You've come up with some pretty good rumours in the past Boobies - you got anything for us this time?

Would welcome any of the top three in the poll (Ferguson, Curbishley or Coppell) and I'd be cautiously ok with Parky or Tisdale.

Dolan or McDermott would be people I'd be happy to give a year, if Madj thinks they're right for the job.

I can't believe people say things like Gareth Southgate did OK for Middlesborough - he got them relegated for Pete's sake and then did pretty badly in the Championship, worse than we did last year. If we get him, I'm resigning myself to League 1.
