Ian Royal
Silver Fox Thing is, if you've seen 9 relegations then you've seen at least 8 promotions haven't you? Sounds like a lucky man to me

I've seen two of each. I'd prefer to get a promotion in next, but if it's a relegation, nevermind.

Hmmm. There have only been eight relegations in total as a Football League club. A witness to all of them would go back to 1930/31!

Relegation seasons:

1930/31
1970/71
1976/77
1982/83
1987/88
1993/94
1997/98
2006/07

We need banners for the TV cameras - nothing could make more of an impact on him than being shown up on national TV, he'd have to act. Madejski loves all of the media spotlight, which tbf he's earnt over the years with all his good work, but more recently he appears to have completely lost sight of the fact that the only way in which he'll make his money back is if we're in the Premiership.

Stranded Honestly, I want the team to stay up this year and then see where we are.

How getting SJM out is going to acheive that I don't know.

I've yet to see any cogent argument for getting the owner out of the club? Any idea of what anyone who wants out what to happen in the days/weeks/months after the owner leaves? What people expect to happen if he does leave and take back his loans? Who out there would take over?

The hard of learning could do worse than read the above paragraph

Madejski leaves, calls in his debts. Bye bye Reading

Madejski's reputation would go through the floor if he attempted that. He has too much to lose if he leaves the club in the shit - the best case scenario is for him to be made aware of our unrest at the weekend in full view of the nation so that he is forced to do something to improve things.

Or...you risk embarassing the guy on national TV...he does an interview later emotionally saying how there is no money left in either the club or in terms of his liquid assets....and we look like ungrateful tossers who no potential buyer would touch.

Do what though?

He's not going to spend any more $.

He's not going to cash in his chips (unless he really is in the sh1t)

If even the likes of Everton & Newcastle can't be offloaded at a cut price then I can't see anyone sensible buying in the current climate unless they are a fan. I think SJM is sensible enough (at the moment) not to sell to a potential asset stripper, complete idiot or a dodgy Russian.

There's not enough support for a member buyout.

Has SJM revised the 5 year yo-yo plan so that you are now bouncing between L1 and the Championship rather than the Championship and the Prem?

He is nearly 70 - does he need teenagers telling him to run RFC and is he going to put up with it?

This is not 1998 anymore, he has overseen the most sucessful period in the clubs history and the stadium move - what more is there for someone who is already past retirement age?

I am a firm believer he knows what he is doing - we will have a manager in place this time next week.

Just trust him

Madejski did not make Rodgers spent 2.5 million pounds on Mills and Cummings. One of them is a stranger and one is 14 years old.

There are a dozen clubs above Reading who have spent significantly less over the past couple of years - that is not down to our chairman

£1.2 million unless we go up on Mills and we didn't spend 500k on Cummings. Mills will be needed (already is actually as Ivar's past it) and Cummings was probably a mistake, but he has time to improve. Hardly splashing the cash when we've brought in £12 million in player sales and slashed our wage budget in two though, is it?

I fully advocate the Mills transfer TBF, if he actually played. In the absence of any publicised injury we have Doncaster's player of the season warming our bench. He is certainly faster than our current CB pairing so this one is a mystery to me.

Di Matteo must like Cummings as took him to West Brom, they are well up there

I think they should both be playing, irrespective of some shocking performances from Cummings. That was nerves as 10 years at Chelsea do not make you shite

Signing them both and Madejski hence seeing them both sitting on the bench looks bad, especially when relying on ex-Coppell buys in their place

There's only one John Madejski, one John Madejski.

I don't, I was there, on the pitch at Elm Park saying just the same thing in 1996 (or was it 97 the years get a bit fuzzy)

You were not the guy that sat in the centre circle at Port Vale then

Even back then you could see criticism of JM was idiotic - now it is simply lunacy
It is also worth noting, from the match report after the Port Vale humiliation

I think Madejski has got to realise that he appointed a manager who is just out of his depth. What all the fans suspected early on has been 100% correct. Bullivant can't even complain about money or support. He's had more this season than any other Reading manager ever.

mmm familiar - we all know what happened that season when he left it too late. That 3-0 at Oxford was Rodgers' QPR and Crystal Palace

Another group set up by another teenager

All they have experienced is the Premier league and promotions.

Can we dump these retards off on Chelsea?

Thames, Big Foot, and Finerain are all on a wind-up. They think it's funny, and in fairness there is a certain entertainment value in seeing where they can go with it.
