Rich Smith (Liverpool fan) says...

....Liverpool shouldve beat Reading the first time of asking, but they didnt. No disrespect to Reading, but if Liverpool were playing a more quality opposition e.g. Spurs even, they wouldve been beat easily....

I dont know why but this statement makes even more delighted that we beat these horribly diseased people.

The funny thing is, they were quite lucky to get the draw in the first round thanks to their ego and Rafa's tactics.

Call me heartless, but I can't feel much sympathy for the young Liverpool fan who was crying. I've supported Reading since I was too young to remember, and I've never cried. Ups and downs are part of being a fan, and as a Liverpool fan, this kid will have far fewer of them than a Reading fan.

Couple from sky sports comments section...Not all d**ks.

Ryan Orr (Liverpool fan) says...

Time to go Rafa, and take Lucas with you. Reading looked like the prem team tonight. Fair play to Reading. Hope they get a good run in the cup.

Simon F (Liverpool fan) says...

Truely awful.....although slightly better in the 2nd half....how has it changed so much from 2nd half of last season, played great attacking football then, but so boring and frustrating to watch now....well played Reading though, totally deserved.

Antony Mcdowall (Liverpool fan) says...

That surely is the final straw for Rafa Benitez. I am certainly not in the 'In Rafa we Trust' brigade and believe that he has lived a charmed existance for too long. He has bought poorly for many years now, with only a couple of obvious exceptions. Well played Reading, they thoroughly deserved to go through and it would have been a travesty if they had lost 1-0 after 90 minutes.

I've supported us fully since I was about 13 and I've shed a tear or two only the once when we won promotion to the top flight.

I have no sympathy. His team lost an FA Cup 3rd round replay and are struggling elsewhere, that is all. Big oxf*rd deal. It's not like they've been world beaters for decades!

His interview on ITV was awful. Just could not answer a question. Fair play to Gabriel Clarke (the questioner), he took Rafa to the cleaners. Car crash TV.

LOL @ the Liverpool fans singing "You'll never walk alone" then 2 mins later after we scored the pen booing the team off. I guess the "You'll never walk alone" comes with disclaimers....what a shower that club is.

I thought it was a poor interview from both. Gabriel Clarke spent half of it trying to get him to moan about the penalty, then just tried to goad him about the team not being good enough.

+1 - he sounded like he had given up. Came over terribly and tried to imply it was all the ref's fault.

I'd be surprised if he lasts the week after that interview. Interviews are often very revealing. Roy Keane was out of control in his last interview at Sunderland. Gibson only gave up on Southgate after he gave a defeatist interview for the first time. And Rodgers' strange tussle with Dellor gave the impression he had lost the plot. Benitez came over as a man who was so emotional he was about to implode. Not good. It would be a convenient time for Liverpool to make a change, then the new guy can use the rest of this now futile season to address the problems.

Reading do have a higher net spend then us this season! But seriously its a terrible season most likely going to end up trophyless and struggle to finish top 4 the players clearly arent playing for the manager and we cant afford to replace a set of players so in the end manager always pays the price and maybes thats the best thing to happen i think we need a change its a steady decline and whats to suggest next season will be better it could be even worse! 4 years nearly without a trophy now not good enough.

That first statement can't be right can it?

Given our net spend is about -£8.5m I doubt it.

FiNeRaIn I don't like liverpool really but no need to mock them, they weren't particularly aggressive with us over any of our games in recent years.

How they are feeling there we've felt most of this season, especially on HNA.

FiNeRain - the most negative poster on HobNob.

I don't know. Who was it seriously predicting a 9-0 defeat tonight?

That was me and I am more than happy, nay pissed, to hold my hands up! :D

Ark Royal is getting well and truly oxf*rd on tonights performance.

RESULT!
