soggy biscuit players desperate to assist an oponent with cramp just to get applause from the crowd should be booked.
Doing that gay little run they all do when they have faked an injury and pretend to spend the first 10 steps running off a sore leg should result in a booking
Being called either 'Craig' or 'Bellamy' should be a yellow card offence, both names together and you are off.
soggy biscuitComfortably Numb too many to choose from:
salary cap
transfer cap
perhaps a %age of debt against your income as a club, to prevent debt getting out of hand
like the idea of a bonus point
This should have gone on the 'if you could change 4 rules in football' thread

PurpleTurtle Bonus point for scoring >3 goals. Losing 4-3 would still get you a point, which is far more derserved from a spectators point of view than coasting out a dull 0-0.

Independent timekeeper like in the rugby, who stops the clock for genuine stoppages rather than some pansy playing for time. When 90 meausured played minutes are up, that's yer lot.

Problem is that when teams not in direct competition (i.e. one fighting for the top and one fighting against relegation met), they'd gift each other three goals each and then start playing competitively from 3-3.

You mean the way that teams gift each other 4 trys in Rugby before they start playing?

Get rid of the blatant cheating. Anyone caught diving or feigning injury should be humiliated publicy by some leather clad dominatrix who rips a new arsehole for the culprit by way of a 2 foot long strap-on without the use of KY jelly or other such lube!
As Corporal Jones would say, "They don't like it up 'em!"

Dirk Gently Probably not at the top of the list, but can I add allowing the use of towels to dry the ball before throw-ins?

yeah. agree with that. Though the commentators were making far too much of the delay. How often do you see a player standing with the ball waiting to make the throw for ages in games? Delap cleans and throws pretty much straight away. I don't think it meant significantly longer at throws.
