Sorry - easy red. He might have gone in with one foot, but he was 6-8 inches off the ground, late, and straight into the WBA player's ankle. Easy decision for the ref.

Lovely pass from Rasiak from Church's goal. And no wonder Church looked relieved to tap in the rebound, his first attempt was woeful.

I didn't think it was in the game, but I do now - didn't get the ball, caught the man with his leading foot and then followed through (accidentally, but still...) with his trailing leg.

He was nowhere near the ball, even when he took off the ball was already gone from where he was launching himself

100% a red card

Shocking tackle though, its not like he was even close to getting the ball

Maybe if Long was playing in your day then he might get away with it, he knows the rules these days though and even though sometimes they go too far in taking tackling out of the game I think its good to see those types of tackles punished

Just seen a really bad one by Parkin on a Blackpool defender which wasn't even called as a foul, let alone a card.

Defiantly a red, no questions. However this couldn't have come at a worse time for Long, 4 goals in his last 3, I can only think this'll dent his form. Hopefully it'll fire him up a bit, but he really needs to learn not to tackle like that.

It's even more of a red card every time I see it. Shocking tackle - gets airborne miles before the player and doesn't get anyway near the ball. Pure idiocy. See ya, Shane.

I'm coming round to you. It looked worse on a good picture. And he definitely leapt into it, which I hadn't noticed before. I think he was trying to pull out of it at the end, or at least not completing the challenge. But he got him with leading and trailing.

No intent, just stupidity. Something that is sadly all too common in Long's game. Out for 3 / 4 games, which means he's going to have to play himself back in all over again after the suspension.

Rules change Spizz. You can't leap in like that anymore. Rightly so.

if that was a straight red, then its time to adorn the oppostion teams with rose petals in the pre-match introductions

lets abolish tackling altogether and be done with it

pathetic

Yeah as I said I don't think it was malicious like at Derby, or the red mist or anything, but I think it's one of those occasions where you have to hold your hands up and say your player deserved to walk.

Slide along the ground, leg outstretched - no red.
Don't launch into a tackle but robustly challenge the defender with his body - no red.
Realise he isn't going to reach the ball, and don't tackle at all, but try to force a corner - no red.

It was stupidity.

Becoming airborn by leaping = red. Doesn't matter if he gets the ball cleanly or he misses everything or he gets the man. It's a potential leg breaker and must be cut out.
