Looks quite clearly that they were trying to stop the players from going over to their fans - no sign of any "fisticuff" incidents in that clip - just shows the stewards to be another set of idiots.brendywendy well that has certainly helped me form an opinion on the matter

Who though?? Tabb?loyalroyal4life OBVIOUSLY the loss of mcanuff is a big blow but i think the rest of 3 games will do him good plus it gives someone else the chance to shine!!!

The stewards were not on the pitch to stop the Reading players celebrating that had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Immediately after the final whistle there was an altercation between McAnuff and Mulumbu. McAnuff raised his hands to Mulumbu and the assistant saw it told the ref and sent him off for Violent Conduct.
Mass brawl so stewards go involved to break it up because the Reading players were furious. McAnuff went after the assistant so they stopped that.
A coach of some sort from the Reading bench came sprinting from the bench to square up to the officials. and the stewards were trying to stop this.
Reading players were angry and the stewards were trying to stop a fight that is all! Not to stop the reading fans from celebrating.
