I think you are a bit wrong on your keepers (Hamer should be kept) and Andersson loaned out. If McCarthy is as good as people seem to think then we could even sell Federici.

If you want to loan out Kelly and Cummings then we need more than one additional right back.

We are very light on centre backs if you want to get rid of Cisse and Gunnarsson yet you don't mention bringing in any more.]

By getting rid of Cisse and Gunnarsson there will be no big central midfielder in the squad.

And how can you say don't buy Thorvaldsson when we haven't really seen him play? Do you go down the training ground regularly or watch the reserves because I am wondering how you come to that opinion?

We'll do very well to keep hold of McCarthy. He is the real deal.

Valid points all, I just see Hamer stagnating somewhat right now and in such a scenario if you do get a bid in I think you take it. Especially with McCarthy being rated so highly.

Yes totally agreed on the centreback front big miss from me there. Similar scenario for fullbacks.

As for Thor, I'm just basing it on the fact that he's not getting played despite being here for 2 months now. Maccy D obviously doesn't see THAT much in him and we have plenty of options in that area. With money being tight it seems wise to keep that 300k to strengthen areas such as the defence.

In terms of centre mid, Karacan, Howard, Tabb and the Sig are all options and Taylor could be brought back from loan if needed. I see your point in terms of a 'big' centre midfielder but Cisse isn't the answer IMO and maybe I'd keep Gunnar on a pay as you play but nothing more.

Why make a point of saying "DO NOT BUY" for Thorvaldsson, but omit Bertrand, Griffin and Khizanishvili (I suspect you omitted them cos you think they would be too expensive).

Rather than pick apart his choices, why don't you rather submit your own suggestions or leave the thread alone??

Not so much that, more that the Thor deal was always a loan with a chance to buy deal, rather then emergency loans, or a developmental loan.

But aye they probably will be too expensive :(

 sell hamer and Marek yet loan cummings? not sure i see the thinking there tbh. i know marek isnt rated highly by many but thats the usual for luxery players but sell Hamer? from what ive seen he looks pretty promising (last year at brentford?) and its always good to have three decent goalies in a sqaud.

cummings is young, had one awful game, vs one of the best wingers in teh division. in a slow and unfamiliar back 4, under a manager with less than a clear vision of what was required of him.
i think its daft to think about shifting him on right now.

Good point.

With Griffin and Bertrand not being around next year, do you think we'll be needing new full-backs? What's the likelihood of Armstrong being fit for next season and Cummings or Kelly coming good, do you think?

+1
To me Cummings didn't look comfortable, he looked like a player who was scared to make mistakes .

I'd be very surprised if Cummings was sold in the summer, he deserves another year and maybe a loan move.

He's so small though. I just cant see him making at this level.

Because we are supposed to have a specific option to buy on him perhaps?

And Cummings small!? He's not very built, but he looks to me like he's got height on the rest of our fullbacks!

Im pretty sure there was a similar thread to this but never mind.

No way we should keep Hamer. He's an average league 1 keeper at best. My mate is a Brentford supporter and has been for years. When he watched him on loan for the bees he said he never looked confident, often beaten at his near post and makes very rash decisions. sounds like fed  Would love to keep McCarthy and Anderson but I fear McCarthy will leave for a higher level and Anderson will pursue first team football elsewhere. Still, if Hamer gets a few games in the league and does well then I'll have no complaints.

GK's
Federici Keep
Andersen Keep
Hamer Loan
McCarthy Loan

Defenders
Mills Keep
Pearce Loan
Rosenior Gone
Ingimarsson Keep (players like Bryn an Ingi are good for the club's young players, we can't afford to let the squad get top young/leaderless/lacking in exp IMO)
Cisse Keep (strong CB back-up IMO)
Gunnarsson Keep (such a good utility player, gives us cover for all defensive positions)
Cummings Loan
Armstrong Keep
Kelly Keep
Griffin Feasible to buy or more likely loan again?
Bertrand As above.
Khizanishvili Go in for him on loan again as well and maybe sell Cisse or let Bryn go?

Midfielders
Tabb Keep
Karacan Keep
Howard Keep
Sigurdsson Keep
Davies Keep
Matejovsky Keep
Bozanic Loan
McAnuff Keep
Kebe Keep
Henry Loan
Robson-Kanu Keep
Antonio Loan
Bryant Loan
Taylor Loan

Forwards
Hunt Keep
Church Keep
Rasiak Keep
Bignall Loan
Long Keep
Mooney ? Not sure here. Sell?
Vasilev Loan
Thorvaldsson Keep (I guess he will come good when he gets a decent chance)

Signings:

One decent striker.
A left winger - someone who won't mind playing second fiddle to Kebe but strong enough to warrant a place if Kebe goes off the boil.
Assuming we keep Cisse and Bryn I'd go for some young CB for the future too.
