Well, our old mates from down the M4 are looking impressive and almost certain to be promoted.Unwelcolmed "guests"next season or are you looking foreward to it?Be nice to have a local derby for a change I think.

Not really a derby as such. They care little about us to be honest. Oxford is their derby, and I think most of us think of Oxford as more of a derby than Swindon.

Not fussed. Hope they come up though, as it's an easy 30 mile trip up the M4.

Bring it on! Let's face it niether team likely to play Oxford again in the league. So it would be good to have a local derby again and for the first time at this level at the Mad Stad. As mentioned I still think Leeds or Millwall will grab the runners up spot.

Wouldn't mind them coming up, it's certainly been a while since we've played them and it's a hell of a lot shorter than going to Leeds next season!

They're on a slight mini revival since mid March. The last day of the fixture list could be interesting for them if it has an added ingredient of playoff or auto added in the mix.

Swindon fans I know all say their main derby is with Bristol City.

Before Oxford's dalliance with professional football this would have been seen as a derby by both sets of supporters.

It always was a derby, far more important than Brentford or Watford. (Aldershot were grovelling around at the foot of Div 4 in those days), Even when Oxford came into the old Div 3, Swindon was the one to win.

Disagree
Agree
Disagree - the matches would be fun but I'd like them to stay down so we can pinch that striker (back).

In the fifties and early sixties it was the derby until Headington United became Oxford United and joined the league.I suppose Aldershot is our most recent derby unless we call Brentford or saints a derby.Anyway,Norwich are certs and I cant see Swindon throwing it away now.Rather them then dirty Leeds

I have never understood what all the fuss was about with Oxford. A few tasty bank holiday fixtures in the late 70's and early 80's and the abortive Maxwell attempt to merge both clubs sums up most of the history between the two clubs.

I've never really got the Aldershot connection either to be fair.

Coming from west Berkshire, as many of us do, Swindon rates far higher on our radar. Nasty little club, with nasty little fans. Their play-off final win in 1993 was one of my darkest moments as a football fan.

Hopefully, they will blow up before the season ends (not literally I should add) and bottle the play-offs.

Is your brain full of sandwich bags?

We've played Swindon more than we have played Oxford and Swindon have played Oxford.

I've looked up soccerbase, we've played Swindon 95 times. Unfortunately, soccerbase doesn't do non-league teams (LOL @ Oxford) for head-to-head searches.

Are "derby" games based on how many times you've played a team then? :?
