Ian Royal Cisse's alright. But as a midfielder the game passes him by too easily and his passing isn't good enough. As a defender his heading isn't good enough.

I think he might actually perform quite well as a full back though...

not agile enough. centre back, yes. if these rumours are true and we get 500k for him, then everyone's happy. great business for us, and they get a reasonable player as well.

I don't know. He certainly can't be any worse than Short Comings.

Midfield powerhouse - who knew?

Actually, he's another I will miss. I just hope he doesn't find the consistency he lacked here, because he could be a real asset to our rivals if he does.

"Cisse played alongside Harper in the Reading promotion team, with Hunt and Kebe(sp!) out wide."

Don't know whether to  , or

Doesn't the loss of Cisse make it a lot less likley Kebe will be happy and settled?

very true. they're supposed to be close mates. i guess that doesn't leave any other French speakers at the club.

He's been here long enough to be able to survive without his bum boy surely?

I'm still not convinced McD can get Kebe to perform as well as he did for the 3 months he was on fire again, so I wouldn't be too fussed if we see him off at some point too.

Logic check ?????

Your happy if our most potent attacking threat of the second half of last season leaves just in case he isn;t quite as good next season ?????

May as well ship Gylfi out too as there's no guarantee he'll hit twenty goals again !!

It's a bit irrational perhaps!

Basically I've seen Kebe play for what 3 seasons now? For me, in those 18 months of football, he's only really looked close to a footballer and a consistently dangerous threat for about 3 months.

I've watched Sigurdsson for a few years at various levels and the only thing that I thought would hold him back was being able to compete physically. Last season we has good for the whole time he was in the team. He has the touch, technique and temperament to be a very good player and so although I don't expect him to have quite the same return in goals I'm confident he'll have a decent season.

But to be fair to Kebe it's only been for 3 months that he's been given the conditions that allow him to play ....

We shall see, but the idea that it makes any kind of sense to let Kebe leave just as we've found out how to get him to play makes me think you are in fact Brendan Rogers !!!

Next idea - Andy Griffin in goal ??

What conditions does he need to be able to consistently control the ball, pass it to a team mate, make a decent effort to tackle now and again, head the ball with some conviction and technique or just keep the ball on the pitch and not shin it out of play?

What do you think was so different to McD's use of him (apart from giving him a bit of confidence) to both Coppell and Rodgers? Players often have streaky runs of form where everything clicks for them. For the better players those streaks become the norm, for those who aren't quite good enough those purple patches stick out like sore thumbs in otherwise disappointing careers (like John Mackie for example).

Just for the record, I didn't say we should get rid of him, I said that I wouldn't be too fussed if he actually left. Slight, but significant difference really.

Anyway, has Cisse gone yet? Thought he was supposed to be having a medical yesterday.
