The Jimmy Kebe ACTUALLY HAS a groin strain thread

by Z175 » 30 Jul 2010 11:10

This was originally a "Go Jimmy" thread encouraging him to destroy Scunnys on loan left back (why it is in the team section, not rumour)
it is now a "Stay Jimmy" thread after he looks likely to miss a few weeks with the groin strain condition possibly known as Stephenis Huntitis.

For the rumour we have
- Kebe officially may not make Scunny game due to groin strain that kept him out v Southampton. Stephen hunt sold last year after weeks out with a "groin strain" despite playing internationals in that time.
- Kebe did not look injured v Wolves.
- He has been on devastating form
- He doesn't speak english and has hinted he wants to go back to France
- Certain individuals on hobnob with info on phone contracts hosues etc

Against the rumour we have
- B McDermott's account, not a guy to lie I don't think. He even mentioned Kebe's recovery training.
- It would be silly and idiotic and financially bizarre to sell your best player when your likely promotion chances would be weakened so severely.
- We just sold James Henry, a right winger, to Millwall. If we were goign to sell Kebe, this would have been silly and idiotic.
- He is currently training with the physio doing groinal work

Only in the cold light of day does the panick seem an over reaction. The anticipation of seeing the new Jimmy Kebe in action is perhaps the main reason to drive the worry. Google "groin strain"- it does exist!

Why, has Man Citys intrest worn off now as we would take a figure under £30 gazillion pounds for him so he would not be expensive enough for them?

Mmmm, well it looks like Kebe will not be present on Saturday.

He was ruled out yesterday for Southampton friendly and the club say he may miss our opener.

Sounds like he's off to me, he didn't look too injured to me the other night and no suggestion of that from the club when he was subbed.

Will the money be used on the squad!? And the club say they want people to purchase or renew season tickets for an exciting season. Mmm!!

Can I just apologise for starting this thread and say how much I regret it.

Title changed appropriately.

We can just pray that the groin strain recovers and he fails to agree personal terms.

If he is sold then so be it. From the clubs perspective if we get a good offer for him then it will be stupid not to sell as he will leave on a free next summer. On the other hand it does leave us a bit short in the wingers department having also sold James Henry.

So all we can hope for if he is sold is that some money is made available to replace Kebe and to get another centre back in.

It would be highly annoying if we were to sell our most dangerous attacking threat

Where has this We're selling Jimmy rumour come from?

To who? Or is it just of case of him actually being injured but people deciding it's fake and he's off?

It would be but, financially it is would be the right thing for RFC to do and also it would be the right thing to do for Jimmy Kebe. If the move is back to France and is a move to Ligue 1 then RFC cannot really stand in the way of what he has already stated as his dream move......

You don't think Hal R-K or Michael Antonio are adequate, (rather than like for like), replacements? Personally, I would prefer to get a fee for him now rather than see him depart back to France for nothing at the end of his contract come next May. Of course, the big question is what happens if we get offers for both McAnuff AND Kebe? Will Mr Mad be able to resist cashing in a couple of 7 figure sums?? Actually stupid question - of course he couldn't resist it.

If Kebe continues to play like he did for the scond half of last season, I'd hope he'd be offered a new contract, but I imagine he's one of the few left on PL type wages so THAT'S not going to happen.

Bottom line, we'd better enjoy his remaining contributions while they last.
