Corners

by The Real Sandhurst Royal » 16 Aug 2010 08:01

Two games in with two goals conceded from corners already, very worrying for the rest of the season if we can't mark players now.

When we get a corner we are leaving Andy Griffin at the back on his own.

Against Scunthorpe they broke 4 on 1 and Portsmouth broke 3 on 1. I

t won’t be long before a good team puts one away, So it is time to leave two players back when we have a corner are you reading this board Mr McDermott!!

Are you talking about us taking corners or the other team taking corners?

Last Saturday's goal was a poor bit of defending by Mills and the breakaway came when we were commiting men forward to try and get something from the game.

Pompey's goal was a bit of a freak and came from not being switched on the the short corner.

Its not that alarming really. One individual error and one freak goal.

Nothing wrong with how were doing things on the whole, just need to cut out some of these lapses in concentration that gave Pompey far too many free shots on goal on Saturday.

Now all I have left to do is await my inevitable HNA? Baptism.

Perhaps Pompey's goal was a bit of a fluke, but they scored from a near post corner in the week and we still left the front post empty.
I presume we watch our upcoming opposition before we play them.
If we were dominant in the air and looking defensively sound we may be able to get away with it, but at the moment we look anything but solid.

Yep, same one, thanks, there are still a few of us left!

Pompey's goal is painful to watch, who was he even crossing to? the six-yard box was only full of black shirts :(
