We are keeping a 'close eye' on...

by jonnyroyal1871 » 15 Sep 2010 01:27

Adam Le Fondre. So says a local journalist friend of mine from Rotherham. Mind you, so are Derby and one or two others. Plymouth failed with a 500k bid this window, as the player wants to move to the championship.

He is expected to move in January. At 5-700k, wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility. Thought I would share like.

No thanks. Shane long would be a 20 goal a season man in that league...and he's a year younger.

Rotherham fans concede he's a good player but not an upper league player. Barnsley are usually linked through the robins connection.

From what I have seen of him he has a very good eye for goal but not sure he has the all round game for Championship level. I would certainly think he would struggle to play the role we ask of our strikers currently.

What is the point of the "oh so mysterious" thread name?

Le Fondre will probably get 35 or more this season if he doesn't go, so I'm not sure that comparison works.

7 goals in 8 games this season. Fantastic for a striker. Sure, he maybe a League two striker but I don't think any of our strikers can even score 15 in League two tbh. Perhaps he could bring something new to the team?

Exactly, that's why he'd be a good signing as he'd offer us something different

He's a good player with a lot of promise, playing very well in a team he's clearly settled in and suited to the way they play. Why would he want to take a sideways step and come here?

Used to live up north and see a few Rochdale games and he's a very classy player. Dagnall seems to be doing well for Scunthorpe and I believe he is better than him, so I would happy with this signing if it was ever to go through....

it will never go through, we are not in the market for a striker, especially when Mills is our top scorer
