Wycombe Royal His mistake at Reading was trying to change too much, too quickly. At Swansea he has inherited a team that has played passing football for years. It isn't really a surprise he is doing well there, but wasn't going to happen here. Look at the midfielders we have - they aren't comfortable enough passing the ball to make Rodger's brand of football a success here.

He wasn't right for us, but he is right for Swansea, and good luck to him.

This is 100% spot on.

Swansea now have a cutting edge to go with the nice stuff. They are also strong defensively. I'm not convinced they have strength in depth. If they avoid serious injuries they are realistic top two contenders. Well done Rodgers. His side look like a smart outfit.

I think his biggest mistake was coming to a Reading that had already been changed too much too quickly.

He's happy, and meantime, we're happy..............good luck Swans

...rather you than those miserable scrotes from Cardiff

As I understand it the players didn't have a clue what he was on about and after the modest Coppell they rather resented the big-time spiel of Mourinho's mate.
As Wycombe said he has come up with the perfect job for him and he has done well by keeping to the ethos of how they played previously.
There have been very few changes in personnel and credit to him for bringing in a new Jason Scotland in Emnes although of course he is only there for a month and Mowbray might see the role for him that Strachan didn't.

Yesterday it was fortunate for Swansea that Cardiff's most important player Bothroyd was suspended and without him Cardiff looked unbalanced whereas Swansea were comfortable all over the pitch.
I was always neutral about him but so far Brendan well done.

^ Don't forget Victor that Swansea were without Darren Pratley. He's as important to Swansea as Bothroyd is to Cardiff.

^massive 'greed but we do have a number of replacements stylewise for him whereas C*rdiff don't for Boothroyd.

Still would've played them off the park.

Just watched the highlight and I must say Swansea looked very good - but then did Cardiff as well. Can't see us getting anything from the match on Wednesday ....

I watched the whole game and believe me Cardiff did not look "very good". Swansea deserved than win 100%.

Could be level second today after a decent comeback against Ipswich, scoring plenty of goals and keeping the ball well - just what we should be doing.

Good question. Perhaps it's because Ipswich led? :D

Ah, the website I was looking on had Townsend's goal at 64 and Beatie's at 50. It has since been corrected.

I guess that he just didn't have the right DNA for Reading.

I doubt it very much. Its not as if Swansea score goals by the shed-load. Lets see how things pan out by May.

Pretty pleased for Brendan, was sacked far too early at Reading.
