Given that this seems now to be in the same boat as BWP's proposed move was should it be moved to the Team forum?

Also, what's the betting that we sign him and then loan him out to Bournemouth or Aldersh*t?

If Southampton are interested I could see him preferring a move there to be honest. OK so a lower division but more local for him and probably higher wages.

If we do get him the I would say a loan move to a lower league Club could well be on the cards as mentioned previously.

Where's he live then?

I can see him training with us for a couple of months then going out on loan before the deadline if he hasn't been given a chance. It's a massive step up to professional football, let alone the Championship, so a quick month or two in League Two might do him the world of good.

He plays for Eastleigh so I guess he's assuming that he lives in Southampton.

We all knew it but this from Eastleigh chairman Dave Malone
"The Club can confirm that we are in negotiations with Reading FC in respect of the possible transfer of Brett Williams."

I hear the transfer has been stopped as he broke a nail during the medical.

Can understand the club not taking a risk on that

Was it the nail that was used to hang up the MrMad picture? Puts BWP's crimes into perspective, doesn't it?

Brian McDermott We’re going to sign him. He’s young and hungry.

We’re hoping he will improve a hell of a lot with full-time training and he’s desperate to come here.

Some people think you need to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds for players, but that isn’t the case. I’m a great believer in giving people opportunities. I don’t care where they come from. This is Brett’s dream – his words.

McDermott is also on the look-out for one more striker and another midfielder to add to his squad in the January window.

Well I'm chuffed to pieces with this. He'll come here wanting to prove something to us and himself, and that's what we did with the likes of Kitson, Doyle and Long, to an extent even Stephen Hunt. To have that hunger back about the place is great.

Am very pleased too, plus it will do no harm giving Hunt and esp Church competition for their place

Players at that level don't really tend to live just round the corner though. Some do of course, but my point is the assumption is wrong.

We've had Reading based players playing for Eastleigh.

i like BM's growing arrogance, and he does speak sense.

Just one thing, rid of your Tony Pulis syndrome and look at the fuckin camera when you're speaking, its rude to look away.
