Unfortunately we are unlikely to get him now as our medicals usually take some weeks to perform so it is unlikely we will complete the medical before the transfer deadline closes.

When has a medical for a transfer that has gone through taken more than a couple of days then? Even when we were involved in a transfer where the player failed his medical (and so required more testing), how long did that take? 3 days wasn't it?

(Not sure if this is an example of fishing or not - judging by some of the idiotic comments on this board during the transfer window you can never be sure anymore....)

LOL no, but Burnley are getting linked to everybody so it's not too surprising.

The new Burnley manager was very specific saying he had had no contact over Austin

Well there you go.....

TBH at the moment I think I'd be a decent replacement for Noel in the current form he's in, so yeah, good news if true.

I'm far more excited than I perhaps should be that we're signing a striker from Hereford!

Although I was keen that we sign Austin I actually think this guy "might" turn out to be an even better bet in the long run. We have lacked a big strong attacker for a long time and although about the same height as Austin this guy appears to be built like a tank. And from all accounts he still has pace and movement - although admittedly not tested at a higher level yet. He could be a good sub - to come on to change a game we need to win or are losing. Perhaps a better version of Rasiak. Time will tell.

And to keep the chairman happy no doubt he will be a lot cheaper!!
