RUMOUR - Mills?

by Snowball » 15 Jan 2011 21:49

I came on here expecting a strong rumour that we'd had an offer for Mills.

Was he genuinely injured today, then?

Injured his back in training on Thursday according to McDermott (interview on official site). McD doesn't strike me as the type to lie........

"Matt Mills hurt his back on Thursday - it was quite innocuous really, so we thought he could travel.

"But the long journey wouldn't have done him any favours, so we'll see where we are next week with that."

Could be off to West Brom...

If they come and bid £3 million plus a sell on clause I'd be very tempted to take it. I think he's got potential but he's not got the best disciplinary record and we've got Morrison, Pearce, Kizi, Ingi plus Gunnarsson at a push to play there.

Never been all that impressed with him. He's decent enough at this level but he possibly thinks he's better than he is. He wouldn't be a huge loss, Morrison is young and promising and would slot in and improve with games, Ingimarsson and Kish' are sound cover as well.

What did we pay in the end? £1.1m (rising to just over £2m if we won promotion). If someone offers £3m then you bite their arm off!

If he leaves, I will give you all £20 each. He's going nowhere.

wouldnt sell him yet as I think he has alot of potential. Plus Morrison is still young with little experience, this could be Ingi's last season and Zurab could be too expensive for us to buy in the summer.

West Bromwich Albion have made an enquiry for Matt Mills, skysports.com understands.

The highly-rated Reading defender has been at the Madejski Stadium since 2009, when he was snapped up from Doncaster.

The 24-year-old former Manchester City man has continued to impress with Reading since his move to Berkshire.

Now a number of Premier League clubs are thought to be keeping close tabs on him.

And now skysports.com can confirm that West Brom have made an enquiry.

However, with Reading sitting just two points off the Championship play-offs it remains to be seen if they would consider selling one of their prized assets.

But if Johnny Fordham says its utter rubbish then it must be utter rubbish.

Bit strong. Yes he loses his head too often, though not just recently (must be something to do with Pearce), but he's not that big a cnut.

Plus Morrison is a replacement for Khiz in my opinion, as he'll be on much less wages than Khiz.

Not as good as he thinks he is. Easily wound up by opposing players. Something missing between his ears. I have seen better, I have seen worse. But... if an offer comes in well over and above what we have paid, I would not be sorry to see him go.
