If I were captain of Reading I'd find it almost impossible not to spend my entire time telling the Evening Post what a collection of quacking spastics the majority of our fans are.

We seem to have completely cornered the 'moaning helmet in Jester's hat dribbling into a hot dog' market, so he gets my respect for being so restrained.

brendywendy comes across as having attitude in the millions of conversations youve had with him, or simply judging from the way he walks and runs about?

Nope from the one conversation I had with him that was enough for me to make my mind up

excellent

is this just in comparison with friends and family or judged against other professional sportsmen?
cos id say it probably helps to be a little arrogant in his field

Couldn't agree more that a little arrogance would not do any harm being a footballer BUT when you are slating other players in the starting 11 that in my eyes is uncalled for from our so called captain.

Griffin for captain

Didn't set the best impression when he swore at the fans.

ROY AL I dont think Mills has said anything out of order, anyone who watches Reading week in, week out and reads this board will know just how negative the 'fans' are. The atmoshpere at the ground is almost non existent at times. Some of the so called 'fans' are quick to jump in and have a go at players. Look at the abuse Long suffered - now he is the best thing since sliced bread, until his form maybe dips and then God help him. Get off the players' back, give them support not s@*t .

agreed- the whol epoint of being a fan, is to support and encourage.
if you want to belittle and berate go support swindon and at least have the negative affect on a rival team.

to actually boo our own players like mills, kebe, shlong, cummings and most recently church is oxf*rd abysmal behaviour.

and all this "i pay my money so get to behave how i like" rollocks is utter tripe.

Well put Brendy!

Hugo Boss LOL @ People feeling its acceptable to slag a player off on a public forum but unacceptable for the player to slag off them in public.

LOL @ a player who whinges to the paper about the fans.

I absolutely LOVE how the fans' opinions of Mills are really changing now and how we're finally coming to conclusion that Pearce and Zurab would be a much better partnership (a view I have shared for a hell of a long time now).

Mills, fans pay their money to watch you play so you need to act with a lot more majority to gain that respect. The way you have defending over the previous few months has been shocking and you shouldn't even be the captain of this club. You are very lucky that you belong to a club that doesn't show their feelings half as much as the fans of other clubs and you're also extremely lucky you have a manager with as much patience as Brian. Grow up son because I do believe you at least have a certain amount of footballing talent

In order for the fans to be more positive, the players need to give something in order that the fans can be more positive.

ahh, but the players don't have to give something more positive, for the fans to be less negative.

In defence of Mills (and everyone knows I'm not a fan) the last game I was at, if I'd have been a player I'd be seriously questioning why I bothered even turning up, given the bunch of retard children in the stands slamming their seats up and down at a missed half chance after a good period of pressure, whilst we were drawing. I'd have probably done worse than give them the finger.

Is he still boshing Hannah from Hollyoaks on a daily basis?

If so I imagine office monkeys whining about him on a internet message board shouldn't get the poor chap too down.

Last season when BR was sacked, we were shit. BMcD and the players turned a disasterous first half of a season into a great second half. The upturn in performance was translated to the stands - with the exception of that QPR game. What is the difference this season? Oh yes, we sold 30+ goals and have not adequately replaced them. What's happening now is that the frustration at the lack of progress of the club on the pitch is being translated into a negative attitude off it. Would Mills criticise the club for this? Of course not. That's a no brainer.

Just making the distinction between the fans being positive without having something to inspire them, and the fans stopping being overly negative without justification.

floyd__streete Heres an idea Millsy - if the back four that you lead so badly stop defending like Cirque du Soleil I'll be a bit more optimistic once in a while.

LOL - couldn't agree more. Of course he's a very positive player screaming at McCarthy on Saturday for allowing Easter to score, yet someone in defense or indeed in the team, could've prevented that from happening. Will be glad to see the back of Mills when he leaves.

Just how often do the Reading Mongs actually get behind the team BEFORE something happens on the pitch to inspire them? What you get from the mongs is a reaction. And since when do fans need justification to be negative?

Plenty of people get behind the team before something happens. It's only when things consistently don't happen that things really fall away. Since always.
