1, Long
2, Leg
3, Harte

Even if Leg had been here all season I'd still be inclined to say Shane edges it. His workrate and all round performances have been superb from day one even during the early goal drought.

Maguire
Who Moved The Goalposts?
Maguire If Harte had taken the penalties then he'd be top scorer now, and that's from left-back.

Few tap-ins from Shane Long aint gonna change that so i'm going for Hartey. It's for the whole season and Long was uttershit until about Oct/Nov time.

1. Harte
2. Long
3. Leigertwood

(although game-for-game I do think Leigertwood has been our outstanding performer, he just hasn't played a whole season)

So even though Long was, according to you, "utter shit" for a third of the season, you'll still give him second place?

Yes. It's Player of the Season so you have to consider who has contributed the most over a season (McCarthy for example, has done very well but wasn't in the team for months. Karacan has flitted in and out as well)

Long has been leading the line extremely well all year and even with the goals taken aside I think he's played immeasurably better than he ever has done for Reading before.

Karacan has flitted in and out

What season have you been watching!? He's started 35 of our 41 league games, with only a couple of players have started more games than him.

Silver Fox
Ian Royal Best Comeback of the Season:
Chris Armstrong

The one that ultimately saw him retire? You're dafter than I thought

Anyways, just to spite the miserable pcunter who sits next to me I'm going for Long, if we had AV I'd have Jay Tabb and Boris as my second and third choices as sadly Leigertwood is ineligible

The one where he came back from a major injury and MS to actually feature, out of position, and perform admirably, if only briefly, before having to retire.

floyd_streete - you have serious issues, have you thought of therapy for your irrational dislike of certain people?

I have gone for Legs. The team's record when he plays is incomparable to when he doesn't. Does the nasty, tedious stuff with a minimum of fuss and provides a platform for those with more flair to do their stuff.

marcusopp A good team is based on a good skipper

Ingimarsson has done very well, but unfortunately hasn't played enough games. If he'd been a regular alongside Khizanishvili or Pearce all season we'd probably be doing even better than we are.

No. We'd have conceded far more goals had Ingimarsson played more games this season.

It is a fact, there is no evidence to support it, but it is a fact.

Chris Armstrong for me.

Anyone who can play 8 games with MS should be player of the season. I hope people will join me in voting for him. Otherwise its another landslide - Shane Long!

In my honest opinion, if Shane doesn't win, it's criminal... it's not about goals either, his workrate has been absolutely mental and he has put in every ounce of effort. Also, taking into consideration - losing Gylfi, and every one of us saying, "where the oxf*rd are the goals gonna come from now?" He has stepped up, completely.

Leigertwood though, has to certainly be next in line... with Karacan in 3rd.
