I really hate Wolves........they are also after Birmingham and West Sham players. They are a club that live off everyone elses misfortunes. I was so hoping they would get relegated.

Oh, I am convinced that 1Team is in fact Ting Tong Macadangdang......hello Mr Dudwey

Mills keen to stay with Reading FC
By Jonny Fordham
June 09, 2011

Matt Mills has shrugged off speculation linking him with a summer move to Swansea City and hinted that he is ready to commit his future to Reading.

Reports have linked Mills with a £3million move to join former manager Brendan Rodgers and his newly promoted side after they beat Royals in the Championship play-off final last month.

Mills is in the last year of his contract at Madejski Stadium and director of football Nick Hammond told getreading last week that he will open talks with players over the coming weeks.

Follow Jonny Fordham on Twitter here for all the Royals news as it breaks

“I guess there are quite a few of us players with just a year left on our deals and you’re always going to get speculation,” said Mills.

“I haven’t heard anything from the club yet, but I think the contract situation looks after itself.”

Centre-back Mills is expected to be named club captain after Ivar Ingimarsson was released last week.

“I’ve not spoken to the manager about it,” Mills explained.

“For the 50 or so games I have captained Reading I have always said how proud I have been.

"Wearing the armband for this club fills me with immense pride.

“Ivar was a quiet guy and he led with the way he went about things on the pitch.

"It was that which I think inspired others. Ivar played more than 250 games for Reading and he will go down in history as one of the greats, there is no doubt about that.”

With Zurab Khizanishvili unlikely to accept Reading’s offer of a new contract due to interest from the rest of Europe, Mills will be lining up with a new partner at the centre of defence next season.

Elsewhere, Shane Long, who only has a year left on his contract, continues to attract attention from a host of clubs and Royals look likely to sell the 24-year-old striker this summer if a big bid comes in.

Mills added: “The board obviously make the decisions based on what is the best thing to do for the club.

“As far as I am aware this is a very well run club and in the last two seasons that I have been here they haven’t done much wrong from what I can see.”

Blimey, *everyone* in Europe is after Zurab?! Fair play to them for not being put off by the Wembley game...

Always thought mills was genuinely happy to be here and that captaining the side honestly made him very proud and it would be that which made him want to stay. I guess we will see.

He seems the passionate sort that will give 100% and put his all into being here. I don't for one minute think that he wouldn't leave for a better offer elsewhere though.

I'm sure Donny fans probably thought much the same as well.

Still not convinced he's the right character to be skipper right now though, but there probably isn't anyone I'd select over him either.

Thing is, Mills may not WANT to leave but as soon as RFC receive that bid for him and accept - he'll feel let down and then move on.

i think pearce is better, as he is more consistent, and far less likely to lose his head during a game. but its all opinions.

either way- i like mills, and think he'll stay here. him and pearce has it in it to be the best defensive pairing in the league- much like iver and sonks were for a season.

Mills has always been one of those players who can play really well when he fully concentrates on the task in hand. His performances against Everton and Cardiff away were some of his best defensive performances.

However I feel that he doesn't always give it his all especially in the smaller games where he is prone to errors and resorts to hoofball. He can be fantastic, and on his day can be a Premier League player, but for now he should stay and build up experience with us. He's our captain, and he won't get that anywhere else right now.

I thought before his injury pearce looked top drawer with mills and was my prefered cb pairing.
