Snowball
4,897 Minutes 25 Goals = a goal every 195 minutes. VERY good striking

+1
Hunt is excellent. He also links up with other strikers brilliantly, he's quick, he can jump and he pulls off some fantastic flicks...

When Noel was playing with Doyle I said at the time
that he was the equal of Doyle but not getting the
minutes.

He outdid KD on goals per minute.

If he had the toughness of Shane Long he'd be worth 6-10 Million

He plays a similar game to Shane, he likes to close defenders down and pressure them, wins a lot of headers too.

Svlad Cjelli I don't say I want him gone, I say I'd happily sell him. He seems to be over-rated, so I'm thinking we'd get more money for him than he's worth.

He just seems inconsistent, drifts in and out of matches and is only effective for 15-20 minutes per game and is also not a patch on what he was before he was injured.

I just think there are better strikers out there that are within our price range.

Agreed.

Quick? Seriously?

Hunt is very, very average. Useful because of his work-rate, but any offer upwards of a million should be viewed as fantastic business.

You think we can get a player who scores a goal every 195 minutes for how much, exactly?

Judging by recent history, 75k, 50k, 800k ;)

Agree with Snowy's point though, you don't trade in proven goalscorers who are settled and happy at the club unless you're totally blown away by an offer.

Would be a shame to lose Noel, I think he owes the club tho long time out injured, obviously not his fault, but I always hope that injured players return and pay the club with good performances before moving on.

He's hardly a 'goal-scorer'. And tbh I think most people would be blown away by the 1.8m that's being menntioned.

Snowball you should check out my thread on defying conventional wisdom on the team board and also read the book moneyball - it was made for you!

If you hadn't noticed, 10 goals is higher than some teams top scorers. AND he was out/didn't play half of the season, and you call him average?

Another thought is, how many times have Long/Hunt played as partners (for over 60 mins, say)?

Imagine a whole season of "understanding"

But the problem is that they haven't ever played more together because Hunts consistently been unavailable or not selected.

I think he's a decent player but could he maintain his goalscoring form over a more sustained period? We might never know.

If someone is willing to pay us the kind of figures being suggested here then I think we'd probably be stupid to turn them down.

Based on our transfer dealings over the last few years I think the one thing you couldn't accuse us of is being stupid. Now we just need to see if a bid comes and see who's version of what would not be stupid is correct.

I'm with Hoop personally.
