Avon Royalwolseytee peg
A fool and his money etc etc....
Helped, no doubt, by a certain member of the RFC hierarchy who is sadly (stupidly) misunderstood by a number of posters.
If true, it's good work by NH.
Unfortunately it's the kind of trick that will only work once...........

Agent BaltiSarah Star I'm not convinced that anyone at the club really wanted to let Matt Mills go. McD might have to change his plans now.
No, but he was among a small group of players who they knew could attract attention from other clubs...and obviously they knew what he was worth.
As with all deals, players either have clauses or the club informs the player if they want to/are interested in talking to the buying club or not (if the price is right.)

Sarah StarUkesandman our (obviously annoyed) manager confirmed that none of the money we received yesterday will be used to buy in players
In no way was he pissed off at being asked that question a million times?
He would have been aware of his budgets months ago and agreed who he could let go

BR2 As I see it the current business model works up to a point but it is asking a lot for it to be maintained.
I'm not sure what the alternative is....

I don't think there is one that would enable the club to stay consistently on the cusp of the PL without spending money we don't have.
There will always be a certain amount of luck involved as to the quality of players coming through the ranks but we are doing everything possible to make it work long-term.
Shit can happen and if it doesn't work one year and we get relegated sobeit. Because of good policies now we would still be financially secure and that would enable us to compete with whatever League 1 were to throw at us and pop back up pretty quickly.

Bacon Double Cheese Shirley Brian is more pished off with Mills choosing to go rather than that the club accepted the offer?

Yes, but I think McD was pretty hopeful that Mills would sign a new deal and stay. He's always put a lot of faith in Mills, making him captain and all. He certainly seems pretty pissed off now that he's gone .

Uke So is Mc D pissed off at the club for not being able to re-invest the cash or pissed off at mercenary Mills?

Continuing to use Southampton as an example they eventually had to spend heavily to get back up to The Championship so as prevention is better than cure why not spend in the first place and have the courage of one's convictions.
BTW nothing personal in my earlier post but you know as well as I do that 99% of accountants are cold and heartlessand seldom offer positive adviceto companies and are content just to present info and detail it.
That is why most accountants (other than the likes of Barry Hearn)are accountants rather than entrepeneurs.
It strikes me that our chairman with age has lost his entrepeneurial approach and settled for what the accountants tell him,ie, worst case scenario rather than best case scenario.

sandman I don't care if the Rofleading fans like Mills or not. Our manager rated him highly and his opinion is far better than all of yours.
Everyone on here is saying how happy they are that Mills has gone but the most important opinion is McD's and he is really annoyed and you can tell by the interview on BBCRB.

brendywendyCayeneMatt He's getting 25-30K a week according to the express ?
I thought he'd have gone for more than that. He couldn't have been on much less at our place.
he was on more like half that tops

Gordons Cumming Leicester are a bigger club than Reading.
Leicester have a better chance of promotion this season than Reading.
Leicester are more high profile then Reading
Leicester have a better history than Reading
Leicester will pay more than Reading
Not rocket science.
