Text message conversation with a BHA ST owning mate this morning:

Karacan linked to Albion. Is he any good?

Yes. You f**kers.

He probably wants to go to a big club now

I'm not sure that Palace need him

Ouch

pea
Live in a shithole- Check
Plastic fans- Check (Your East Stand is one of the most cringeworthy things I have ever seen)
Sponsored by Waitrose- Check
Soulless bowl of a ground- Check
Physio for a manager- Check
Chairman that has wanted out for 3 years+ - Check
No history- Check

1) Bit rich, brighton might be a hole with culture but its still a hole nonetheless
2) East stand? Bit of a weird example, considering what the other stands are like. And considering how many plastic fans will turn up in Falmer next season
3) Thats just a fact?
4) WITHDEAN?!?!? and obviously their new stadium is gonna have so much more soul than the Mad Stad?
5) uncheck, when have we ever had a physio for a manager...
6) pretty happy that he'd want to find us someone with bigger pockets thank you
7) err coming from Brighton?

Should be as follows for Brighton
1) Bury you cock in another mans shithole - check
2) Plastic fans - check new ground sold out due to peep holes in gents loos
3) Sponsored by Brighton and Hove Jobs- check, better than some shit DJ married to a bird who looks like a boy, but who the fcuk are they
4) Soulless bowl of a ground- sorry but the only soul your place sees is each others arsesouls, and a really crud name, American Express Gay Cumunity Stadium
5)Physio for a manager- Er what, oh my knob smells of my boyfriends sh*t
6) Chairman who's wanted out for 3+ years - check, but only for the right person, remind me what was your old chairman called, was it Dick Knight, sold out to Trevor Bumoom.
7) No history- history is made over years, check your facts.

Sorry sums up why they should just stick to holding hands!

Just found this on that stupid football rumours site, looks like this is where it started..

Jem karacan, and another Reading player in talks with Brighton apparently a 21yr old striker, Reading are in finantial trouble. they made contact with Btn, 2.5mil for both plus add ons, from a source inside RFC.

Brighton... I mean, seriously, Brighton?

Having a right old laugh reading NSC and how much the 'nice boys' really don't like us. If it was Aldersh*t, I'd understand.

One of my favourite away days was 20th November 1993. Blinding finish from Scotty Taylor at the Goldstone. "We'll be top at five o'clock..."

I don't believe this rumour for one second but if we did sell Karacan to anyone I would be furious!

There could be no excuse. He is under contract for more than a year. We have brought in huge revenue in the FA Cup and Wembley runs. We have sold Mills and reduced the wage bill dramatically - so if there is still a black hole in the finances, we must be the worst run club in the football league.

and only expandable to approximately 35,000, where as ours is 38,000 and due to the design we had in place could have gone over 40,000. one magnicent stand and three smaller than championship/premiership average stands. can't say i'm all that impressed with it.

How ironic Brighton fans call us plastic and yet they move to a shiny plastic stadium of their own and suddenly have 18000 STHs. They'll fade away in a few years and like us they'll average 16000 gates and hit the early 20000's for the bigger teams.

Our away support has always been shoddy, but home support has consistently grown since 1998. No plasticity there! Just steady growth due to better facilities and good marketing, as well success on the pitch.

Brighton are about the same sized club as us. They're hate is pretty embarrassing really.

In fairness to Brighton, 18000 STHs (if that's accurate) for their first season back in tier 2 in a new season is top work. We won't get close to that and haven't outside the Prem. If their stadium holds fewer than ours I'm not sure how they'd manage 18000 as that was the maximum we'd sell. I thought there was a limit on the number of STs you could sell base don a percentage of the total home crowd. And the away seats have to be a certain percentage too. 18000 would leave them with 4000 for non-STHs and away fans presumably at least 2000 would have to be for away fans

Why would he make a downwards step? laughable thread, silly season. Get this nonsense removed from both forums.

Regardless of attendances next season, remember that this is a club that couldn't even fill Withdean in the seasons when they weren't winning...

Anyway, Fordham on Twitter (although I guess no-one would automatically believe anything on there):
Checked out rumours of Karacan to #bhafc and as expected there is no truth in it at all

The only things in their favour are if they can/will pay him more and having the momentum from promotion which just might carry them through to a high finish, especially with buzz created by a new stadium finally.

Well, that and the likley 25 goals that Mackail Smith will get for them.

Much as I hate to admit it, BHA will be up there challenging for a play-off spot this season. I don't really understand their hatred towards us I must admit though, I can only put it down to something akin to penis envy I suppose..
