Mr Angry As mentioned before, that guy is, in footballing terms, one of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse; when he turns up, your team dies.

Peter Ridsdale - Death
Ken Bates - Pestilence
Any other takers? Are we going to need more than the original members of the troop?

a points deduction doesn't seem unfair considering this is the 8th consecutive month they have failed to pay their players wages. if that is allowed to happen without some sort of punishment from the fa/football league then there's something very wrong there. do the players have rights? can they walk away for breach of contract?

Svlad Cjelli But that club is in deep, deep, financial trouble because of the decisions of the previous owners - how are they ever going to recover and be in a proper state to pay their wages if they're hit with a further points deduction? That will just make them less attractive to supporters and so reduce their income and their chances of survival this season.
Sporting sanctions were designed as a deterrent - clearly they don't work as one - but using them to kick a club that's already down won't make things any better for that club, it'll just make them worse.
Either let them recover - and help them to (not financially, though) - or wind them up, but don't keep adding to their problems for no discernible reason.

Tony Le Mesmer Its the CLUBS fault, thats everyone from Chairman to supporter. You win together and lose together.

With all due respect, thats utter rubbish. Let them recover? Why? They are bankrupt and do not deserve the chance to recover. No other company would. Completely sick to death of hearing how clubs that fck everyone else over derserve the chance to get back on their feet. Also completely sick to death of hearing how its the owners fault and they should pay and not the fans. Its the CLUBS fault, thats everyone from Chairman to supporter. You win together and lose together. Thats what clubs do. I dont see too many Leicester fans demanding that their club dont spend all this money on players do you? But when it all goes wrong you'll soon hear them shouting.
Plymouth should be kicked out of the league. End of. They have no right to their Golden Share operating like they are. No sob stories for the supporters. Its harsh but fair.

See the two highlighted alternatives in my post - I'm not averse to them being would up. I was making thepoint that hitting them with a further punishement now would be completely counter-productive.

papereyes Given that fans tend not to complain when clubs are spending beyond their means and doing 'well', I don't see why we should take their views into account when fortunes are reversed.
